zucharn Posted September 28, 2005 CID Share Posted September 28, 2005 Sometimes when I play battlefield 2 online, I get a message saying "there is a problem with your connection" and the game either freezes for a few seconds or kicks me off the server.. it seems to happen in bursts where it will happen every couple minutes and then gaps from a couple hours to a couple days where it will be fine. My isp is optimum online, and I am connected through a belkin wired router and a terayon cable modem. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Swimmer Posted September 28, 2005 CID Share Posted September 28, 2005 I have the same problem.. most of the time it is because the server list isnt update real time.. so the server is full when you think that it isnt.. I wouldnt worry about it to much.. The other reason could becasue the IP address can not found or the server is behind a firewall that blocks traffic.. I have ran into a few of these before. zucharn Posted September 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted September 28, 2005 this happens while i am in game and playing, problem persisted with firewalls disabled, ports opened etc. i'v been looking around online and it seems that alot of optimum online users are having this problem. just wanted to see if anyone had a solution
Elite.Pete Posted September 29, 2005 CID Share Posted September 29, 2005 if thier is an option to change the port used for bf2 i would change it to something and forward it using the router maybe optimum online blocks the port... but then you wouldn't be able to get on at all... maybe its just a plain old ISP problem
Swimmer Posted September 29, 2005 CID Share Posted September 29, 2005 Hmm that is to bad to hear.. you can try calling your ISP and see what they say.. http://ea.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=8961&p_created=1118858228&p_sid=57j35KQh&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MSZwX3Byb2RzPTcsMTAwMyZwX2NhdHM9NTY2LDcwNyZwX3B2PTIuMTAwMyZwX2N2PTIuNzA3JnBfc2VhcmNoX3R5cGU9YW5zd2Vycy5zZWFyY2hfbmwmcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1wb3J0cw**&p_li=&p_topview=1 that is what EA recommends..
