netmasta Posted October 7, 2005 CID Share Posted October 7, 2005 FF protects u against spyware.. After using IE for websites, I had 10 objects that were identified as spyware by ad-aware.. When i use FF i never get anything, even if i go to websites that are from questionable authors and have popups, etc That's because FF doesn't use ActiveX, which can install spyware without you even knowing. I don't ever use ActiveX so FF is better for me .. Thank god for the programmers of FF not including ActiveX components due to copyright, right? netmasta Posted October 7, 2005 CID Share Posted October 7, 2005 That is probably one of the reasons. M$ created, ActiveX. Another reason is the creators of FF and other browsers know how much of a problem ActiveX really is.
MYRIAGON Posted October 7, 2005 CID Share Posted October 7, 2005 Right now I am running a K6-2 500Mhz. CPU and 192Meg's of ram and WinXP Pro and believe it or not it runs really good, (No multi-tasking though) but what I see that most don't is that I have tried FF on several occasions, when I start FF it takes about 10 to 12 seconds to even come up and then it takes forever to render the page, where as IE 6 SP2 starts in about 2 to 3 seconds and almost immediately renders the page, If I go surfing with FF it doesn't do too bad and when I run a download or upload test it's virtually the same as IE. I am not sure how everone has there system setup but with SP2 installed IE6 asks if you want to install an activeX when surfing to certain sites. Also it has pop-up blocker that works very good for me, every once in a while a pop-up slips through but not very often. What I here mostly from FF die hards is (the security is better) and I say BS, Why do you think they keep pumping out new versions ? And the thing I hear is (it has tabbed browsing) I personally don't have any use for that but even so IE7 will have that plus. I don't waste time hating FF I just love IE so much. just remember it's.......Chevrolet,Baseball,Hot Dogs, Apple Pie,The Girl Next Door, and Internet explorer........YEEEHAAAW! :D

IE has many flaws which are left unfixed or rather get fixed in Windows Updates.. FF just updates the whole program when some security issue comes up
