stealthcat Posted January 29, 2006 CID Share Posted January 29, 2006 I'm changing to centennial if this crap goes on, it looks like the prettiest deal around, although it has a 1 year contract but what the hell
resopalrabotnick Posted January 29, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 29, 2006 remember that centennial more likely than not has similar troubles. there is only one seacable to the mainland and that hits in miami. and i have seen complaints from centennial users as well. onelink is not likely to get hings unscrewed too quickly, i'm expecting at least a month of negotiations if not more. depends on the contract with adelphia for the backbone and what capacities other providers have available. TheSavior Posted January 29, 2006 CID Share Posted January 29, 2006 Those negotiations should have happened before they changed hands not after.

nullfied Posted January 30, 2006 CID Share Posted January 30, 2006 Yes, I Agree. Yet, one of the most dissapointing facts about this whole ordeal is the fact that they are not giving fair warning to their users. Heh, I don't know what its called but its not google in english anymore, its the .pr ( a /ncr resets it) , so things are changing. Anyways, whats the webmail for? those collocations in new york are getting dusty. They SHOULD start sending service interruption/"experimentation" advisories... its only appropriate for such ridiculously high fees.
stealthcat Posted January 31, 2006 CID Share Posted January 31, 2006 Well my firewall is picking a lot of stuff from onelinkpr I wonder if this is what resopalrabotnick is referring to, they all seem to be directed to either port 445, 135 or 139 (NetBios), and this is only in the last hour I've got like 20 to 30 attempts. If somebody could shed some light on this please do.

nullfied Posted January 31, 2006 CID Share Posted January 31, 2006 Nope, alot of latency even to the first 4 hops ( :( ) speeds are bellow the 1mbit barrier tonight.. Yet on a letter sent out (January 16th) under the new company name (OnelinkPr) they announce up to 4Mbps.. (4!) with no asterisks...ofcourse, this MUST have been a typo since it is only prudent to guarantee atleast 50% of your adversited speed... is it not? tune in for tomorow's tracerts .. in as Onelink tumbles... RaulJimenez Posted February 1, 2006 CID Share Posted February 1, 2006 lol null that is right, im getting average latency of 341 or worse sometimes !!! i feel like im dialup wooo!!! rajmarie Posted February 1, 2006 CID Share Posted February 1, 2006 I am facing a lot of latency tooo. Yesterday...the speeds were always below 1Mb & while playing on Xbox LIVE, was getting a lot of latency and network issues. Onelink is surely not fixing things properly, since from the time they have taken over...I am having slow speed and network issue with LIVE. I am going to call them though to see if they restricted my bandwidth due to LIVE or online video streaming (reasons to take broadband),
RaulJimenez Posted February 1, 2006 CID Share Posted February 1, 2006 Is this good? Tx Power 46.5 dBmV Rx Power -3.5 dBmV Downstream SNR 34.8 dB Downstream MER 33.4 dB Tx Frequency 33000000 Hz Rx Frequency 573000000 Hz Yes your signals looks very good, downstream levels optimal is 0dbmV but with temperature changes and fluctuations it varies so ur near 0 and that is ok, 46dbmV in upstream is almost perfect since you are trying to get to 48dbmV
jackyandjoe Posted February 1, 2006 CID Share Posted February 1, 2006 i believe our problems is the routers from adelphia, look here http://www.dslreports.com/badrouters.... wonder when they gonna fix it or just eliminate them....
nullfied Posted February 1, 2006 CID Share Posted February 1, 2006 now this is .. wrong..(er) ... latency is around the 80ms (not great, not bad, should be better).. but speeds SEEM to be capped at 2Mbit...can anybody run some tests to confirm? or should we blame it on the routing?.... actually, im quite possitive after checking my pings/traceroutes lets hope its a 1 day thing.. although its been like this for more than 2 days............ RaulJimenez Posted February 1, 2006 CID Share Posted February 1, 2006 Hmm I still see cap at 4mbit here so I dont know, but the latency is horrible in here =(
