kru-soldier Posted October 23, 2005 Author CID Share Posted October 23, 2005 am i missing something... or does it look fine ok i know the T1 is better on the upload but the download even at the lowest drops that cable has they were still 2x faster than T1 and this how do i change it? Information: The receive buffer should be 364.01 Kbytes to maximize throughput Information: The receive buffer should be 364.33 Kbytes to maximize throughput Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 45.74 % of your hosts average (Cox.net)
mattmag Posted October 23, 2005 CID Share Posted October 23, 2005 ok i know the T1 is better on the upload but the download even at the lowest drops that cable has they were still 2x faster than T1 and this how do i change it? Well, going from 5000/768 to T1 isn't really much of an "upgrade" unless all you want is slower download speeds and about twice your current upload speed. A T1 is rated at roughly 1.54Mbps both up and down, so you aren't going to be faster than what you gave up, ever. Weren't you aware of this before your supposed upgrade or didn't you know these numbers in advance? I hope someone didn't tell you it would be faster. -Matt
xyther4523 Posted October 24, 2005 CID Share Posted October 24, 2005 Yeh, were u even aware how fast a t1 was?
resopalrabotnick Posted October 24, 2005 CID Share Posted October 24, 2005 to quote william shatner, compare /before/ you buy... but seriously. your pings should be better with t1 than with cable. but the speed and how it is connected is sooooo different from your cable... you seriously didn't look into the specs and stuff before signing a 350 buck a month contract? TimPawlak Posted December 28, 2007 CID Share Posted December 28, 2007 yeah, that T1 is running top of the line. you didnt really "upgrade" from cable.. in my opinion, it was more of a downgrade. I'm sure there are more packages from COX that will get your download and upload faster. Just ask around =) im sure you can get something better.. T1 is 1.5 mbps down by 1.5 mbps UP
Blunted 2 Posted December 28, 2007 CID Share Posted December 28, 2007 The only this that is better about a T-1 is the SLA most of the time
