netmasta Posted October 28, 2005 CID Share Posted October 28, 2005 Your speeds look pretty good to me. You could possibly get a little more speed, but possibly not too. Read the links in my sig for more info.

alfred99 Posted October 30, 2005 CID Share Posted October 30, 2005 I have tested my new DSL connection and it seems slow. It is supposed to be 1.5Mb/s/256Kb/s. Here are the stats and traceroute to testmy.net and telstra.com.au (our major telco). Can someone please advise me if there is a problem or is this normal. Thanks, Alfred99 :::.. resopalrabotnick Posted October 30, 2005 CID Share Posted October 30, 2005 remember you are testing from australia to the us. that will slow you down right there, since the reversal of spin for the electrons traveling across the equator slows them down some and may even result in packet loss. try testing off a site in the southern hemisphere. since the long route causes some slowdown. try downloading off a site closer to you physically and see if the speed improves. your traceroute shows a slowdown at hop 8/9. also read the 2 links in my sig for more tweaking info.
