carbon unit2 Posted November 9, 2005 Author CID Share Posted November 9, 2005 I'm on the 6meg/ 608k package, you couldn't pay me to go back to Charters 200k downloads with there 5meg package , besides the pings with SBC are top notch, I live about 500ft from the RT , DSL is the best deal for me, Charter was slow and there pings were unstable....I would take the 3meg DSL over a 10meg cable, too many people sharing the cable bandwidth pings to www.google.com Pinging [72.14.203.99] 30 times with: 64 bytes of data ping successful: icmp_seq=0 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=1 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=2 time=27 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=3 time=23 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=4 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=5 time=28 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=6 time=26 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=7 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=8 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=9 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=10 time=26 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=11 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=12 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=13 time=22 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=14 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=15 time=21 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=16 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=17 time=22 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=18 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=19 time=22 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=20 time=27 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=21 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=22 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=23 time=22 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=24 time=22 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=25 time=26 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=26 time=29 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=27 time=27 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=28 time=24 ms ping successful: icmp_seq=29 time=22 ms
gotmilk Posted November 23, 2005 CID Share Posted November 23, 2005 Yeah, the gaming center here still has the 6/512 package from before they stopped offering it, it's pretty cool, since it's about the fastest internet connection around here. There are speed tests from it in a thread further down the list. EDIT: Here they are. :::.. gotmilk Posted November 27, 2005 CID Share Posted November 27, 2005 Well, type 192.168.0.1 in your address bar, it will tell you the speeds at which you are connected. Post the results and then the experts (not me) will know where to start.

sinister666 Posted June 22, 2009 CID Share Posted June 22, 2009 i got the 6mbps connection from sbc yahoo....its pretty consistant at 5 to 5.2mbps. im not complaining any, its the elite package, 45 bucks a month, not too bad in my opinion. my brother uses comcast cable internet and hes only gettin like 6.2mbps on the tests here at this site, i think its funny, i thought cable was supposed to be up to 12mbps...but i guess it depends on how many ppl are using it at any given moment too. and i live right next door to the at&t routing center or whatever its called, less than 1000 ft of wire from me to them, so i have no problems whatsoever with the service i get, very reliable and very consistant.
