SuperDav2000 Posted November 27, 2005 Author CID Share Posted November 27, 2005 I mean that the upload speed was running slower then it use to be. Now when uploading to Tripod.com, it's now taking longer and some cases it won't finsh uploading and there will be a blank page with a message in the title bar saying "error" or "About Working Offline". After that everything starts to lag. I normally use IE 6.0 w/ AOL 9.0 so I try uploading w/ Firefox and had some problems, then lather tri'ed again and was able to upload without stopping all the way through. But there's still an problem the IE side. ...................................... Using Internet Explorer 6.0 :::.. ROM-DOS Posted November 27, 2005 CID Share Posted November 27, 2005 hmmm, maybe you should try some of my performance tweaks. . . http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=9452.0 you could also try clicking on Tools (or Control Panel) Internet Options > General and under Temporary Internet Files click [Delete Files] and see if that helps. and you can also check which sites you're allowing and disallowing in Privacy Tab in [sites]. Indestructable Posted November 27, 2005 CID Share Posted November 27, 2005 Ok, first of all, you can try FireTune, and there are also many other actual tweaks you can do yourself under about:CONFIG but I don't know of any off hand... *note to self: look up info for this guy soon*
cholla Posted November 28, 2005 CID Share Posted November 28, 2005 SuperDav2000 : If you are getting a "working offline message" then you are being disconnected for some reason. If disconnected then of course the upload can't complete. So one reason may be your ISP isn't detecting the upload as activity & is disconnecting your connection as inactive. SuperDav2000 Posted November 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted November 28, 2005 Upload seems to be fine now with firefox, I guest i'll stick with it. About the "working offline", I was still connected when seeing it. After that everything goes really slow until I sign-off and sign back on. Maybe it time'd out?. cholla Posted November 28, 2005 CID Share Posted November 28, 2005 SuperDav2000 : What OS do you have? I'm not sure what to do to correct the problem.Try setting the cookie handling like this in IE.In mine its in ToolsInternet OptionsPrivacyAdvanced.Check "override automatic cookie handling",First party cookies accept,Third party cookies block.Check "always allow session cookies". I have some time settings for Windows ME that should work in 9x but not for later OS's.
