thank you all reply-ers.  I apologize for getting a couple of people upset.  My original post had no name calling.  It was a factual post.  My response to starship?  I called him heyman?  and clueless because "you are only smart if you post alot was inferred".  I apologize if this was out of line.

I posted my speed from another site thinking this would help show my speed.  I'm not spamming anything.  Ive always used this site and tell my clients to use it. It has not been accurate for me I even got my cable company out here and had new cables installed with a dedicated connection.  He showed my speed on the "other site" telling me that this site is inaccurate.  I don't want to believe that.  Cable guys aren't the smartest.  So I posted here.

my speed result this am on this site using tdawnz links:  :::.. Download Stats ..:::
Download Connection is:: 5821 Kbps about 5.8 Mbps (tested with 48638 kB)
Download Speed is:: 711 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net/ (Main)
Test Time:: 2008/01/05 - 6:47am
Bottom Line:: 102X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 1.44 sec
Tested from a 48638 kB file and took 68.453 seconds to complete
Download Diagnosis:: Looks Great : 13.8 % faster than the average for host (rr.com)
D-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-DSZABM6PJ
User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1) ; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; InfoPath.2) [!]

my morning test on the "other site"-15409/1658  I know for  a fact that the other site is still correct.  No big deal I can use the other site for speed tests.  thanks again for all replies  and have a good new years.

I never get anywhere near my true speed in these tests. But when im downloading big files the speed i download at is just right, its like the tests never work, i have tried and tried and tried, The site that new member showed is the only site to show the right results, i have no idea why that is. I still like this site very much, i just wish the tests would work for me.

Denny025, this site uses a completely different testing method then every other site out there. it will detect incorrect settings that flash based tests will not. flash based tests show you your ideal speed under perfect circumstances so once your results here match the flash you know your golden. have you tried tuning your rwin values or using TCPOptimzer?

also what is your advertised speed?

i'll be more then happy to help you solve this issue as i'm sure other people here will too

yeah T i saw that but i don't know what his advertised speeds are he could be advertised 30Mbit for all we know lol

edit: after looking on their website i'm assuming he has their preferred which is 8/1 service if thats true without any tweaking hes getting near 90% of his advertised >.<

he did two tests one at 5.1Mbps and the 2nd at 7.05Mbps which is 90% of advertised
