My local cable company just came out and replaced my MTA with a docsis 3 one and I upgraded to their top tier. Advertised speeds are 50Mbps down and 2.5Mbps up. Wish the upload was a little higher but im more than happy. Below is a speed test. Just went from 16Mbps to 50 so im noticing quite a big difference . Im really curious to see how well it performs during peak hours tonight.

Im guessing the lower upload speeds are due to them not using upstream channel bonding at the moment. Hopefully that upgrade wont be to far from now.

Thank you. It's crazy how much things have changed. I remember when the local cable co here started offering internet. When it launched the fastest speed money could buy was 1.5Mbps down 1.0Mbps up lol

I got a question. It's getting closer to prime time hours here. its 5:30 PM about my time. My speed test from all sorts of dif sites are still coming back at 45Mbps or higher. But youtube still wont stream 720p videos smoothly. I have to pause it and let it buffer for a little bit. Is this normal?

same thing happens to me during prime time and it has absolutely nothing to do with yours or my connection... basically their backbone gets more saturated during primetime hours and the servers that host their HD content can't provide the data fast enough to how many customers they have

i can test here at 62Mbps and still not stream 720p from youtube
