100 Mbps

3 posts in this topic

Hello,

Can someone help me understand this Mbps situation that I have, here goes. My internet provider sent me a letter stating that they can up my fiber internet speed to 100 Mbps from 50 Mbps but when I do a speed test it's running around 44 Mbps. I am trying to find out will this 100 Mbps make a difference in  download and upload speeds? can someone please explain how this works I have searched the internet to find out how this might work but not being computer savvy, I am at a disadvantage someone please help.

You should definitely see a difference with a higher speed. The question for you is: Is there anything you're doing now on the 50 Mbps plan that is inadequate? If everything you're doing works well enough, then I'd wait to upgrade - assuming it costs more.

500mbps is fast enough unless you do some serious downloads then upgrading to 100mbps can be worth the extra cost.
