I also love Cox Cable. My internet speed used to be 4Mbps. Out of the blue, they uped it to 7Mbps. I'm happy but I don't know why I did it. I see no price changes or anything about that. ::::::::::.. I have no clue what mine means. Whenever I play a new game, I want a new and unique name. So, when I type one in, I press the first letter randomly and the next. If it doesn't look good, I keep the first but tune it up until I like the name. Made this name years ago and it stuck. Now I use it for everything.

Never had to tweak my upload at all anyway. First time I tested my upload speed, it was over average and over my max (512). I usually get 514 or more . Good for me.

It didn't speed up my computer but it sped up my internet a lot .

I tried cablenut, but it only sped up my connection to about 2800 when I'm supposed to be getting 4000. I'm getting pretty angry seeing how people with preferred service, 4mb/512kb, are getting way better speeds than I am. Most of the people I see here with the same server I have are getting better than average. While I'm stuck here: :::.. But it has failed. It only slightly increased speed. The highest I've ever gotten in speed is 2.6mb. I'm only about 20-30 mins away from the provider. Shouldn't get that much loss in the line. I've even tried the speed up suggestions by VanBuren, but none have worked. I dled the TCP_Optimizer_zipped.zip from one of CA3LE's posts. It didn't improve my speed but it kept it no lower than 1.4mb. Please, please help me. I've had this problem ever since I signed up with cox cable years ago. I've tried many optimizers, but they all haven't helped. I know you people are better than them programs, so, can anyone solve this problem that has plagued me? Also, please don't suggest on me contacting Cox. Whenever I call customer support, they check the modem and don't find anything wrong with the speed. And it's not cox because my bro has the same deal as me and he dls at 4mb a sec and I can only dl 500kb a sec with an accelerator. Without and accelerator, it's lower 200's.
