Best to download both on c.d. Turn off internet, for changeover. Install AVG free onto computer. Go into safe mode with networking and install c.d. to run vcleaner. Some virus's like to hide vcleaner from you but will work from c.d. Update AVG free and run to clean up left over debris. Should be back in top shape.

If you mean about the roofing, I was a roofing contractor for 20 years, just reroofed 1 year ago, and kept plenty of leftovers for repairs such as this. Or didd you mean something else? Is presently working sheeting nails loose from rafters anyway.

Can't do anything until August at end of contract. Bad install originally. Just bolted to plywood, not expected  to last before re pointing again anyway. March winds will be here soon.

Was flopping around quite a bit last time.

Last installer that was out left me a card. I called him up and he told about a gal that is moving in area, and he believes he probably could pick it up(modem,dish and all for $125). He figured older dish might be required to achieve these speeds. Will definitely have mounted on a pole this time also. That would probably be a decent price wouldn't it. Appreciate everyone's help so far.

Would be interesting to know if it has much zip (h.p. or torque). But it would have to, in order to be considered much of a pickup! And my thought would be they would have to exchange the single for twin cylinders to keep it away from the bumpers, as shown in the pictures,in case of an accident. Just a thought.

DirecWay Model 4000 Send and Recieve Modem pair. Never used working model. Also comes with connecting cable and power supply.

Wow I just don't know how this happened but I was about to run ccleaner, when I got a bulletin about updating a new version of ccleaner. I was a little pretentious to do it but went ahead anyway. Then I figured I better run a speed test and was amazed at what happened. It added a yahoo tool bar addition,OK. But my speed was too fast on the 2992 test. So I did the 12k test and this what happened.

Would like to apologize for short outburst, but I feel I am defending my right to enquire about information, hope I am not stepping on any toes by wanting to change modems, or what ever they are called.

There I said it wrong again, sorry, I meant that the only uploads I do are E-mails. Everything else is mainly downloads. The 6000 and 4000 seem to me to get about the same upload speed and that I would just enjoy more download speed. Actually any knowledge I have gotten on the 4000 has been in the last week. Everybody mostly talks about them as extinct. But after my search for better download speed, and my many dead-ends, I have become intrigued by the 4000.

I still find the 427 SOHC Ford engine with a blower, as the most phenominal engine of our time, raw horse-power, my taste. Others prefer Japanese twin-turbo-charged, fully computerized. Each to their own. I am just doing research on something I would like to do, so be it backward to other peoples thinking. I was asking for someone who liked their 4000 to give me some ensite as to their knowledge of the workings of the 4000 direcway modem and any quirks, the possible problems I might encounter switching it over from a 6000, just some helpful knowledge which is not usually that hard to get here in this forum.

Luckily I have been PM'd but a couple of helpful individuals since starting my quest. But any helpful ensite would still be quite helpful. Thank you!

jkandra, first I know little about 4000, and there is very little posted that I have seen, so I thought that if I asked for some first hand experience, I might be able to get it. I have seen some astounding speeds on the 4000's and thought that might fit my bill, really do not download at all, except e-mails. Just trying to join the 4000 users with a little knowledge before jumping in and then trying to swim. I will try to look up a little more on through some more searching, sorry to bother you.

Cholla, I did not mean that there are not unused resources. So many in fact that we really don't need foreign oil at all. But the oil companies would go broke, and right now they have the money to win!

Hell, if you think about it, why does natural gas have a rate hike every winter. Think about it, it is large deposits setting on top of crude oil. They have to tap it or burn it to just get to the crude oil. They always talk about importing it. BULLSHIT. It is in the ground right here. I remember an article one time, a fella out in Kansas state had found oil on his property, and had tried to get any gas company to come and extract it for free, just so he could get to the oil. They all said that they were under contract, and could not come and get it! I mean rate hikes my AZZ!!! The general public is ignorant and will believe any type of bullcrap they put out. If I had a gas pocket I could run my vehicles, heat my house(with the doors open all day if I wanted to), generate my own electric, and sell some to the neighbors. Natural gas is straight out of the ground with a sulfur smell added to detect leaks, only. Pretty stuff. Ain't that the shitz also, every time you take a crap or fart you create methane, just hard to get it in a balloon and into the carburetor. And yes wind, I know 2 someone's who had a wind turbines like on farms for electricity and they both got shut for noise pollution, to close to neighbors, did not have neighbors permission within so much distance, so they had to shut them down. One was actually owned by a writer, and looked like a castle, pretty cool place.

Farmers also let a lot of fuel go to waste, cow manure and old crop cuttings. Every time you throw your trash out, you throw away good fuel. Except for metal and plastic which is recyclable. Oh well, we are a throw away society. Ones man's trash is another man's treasure. Look at all the good computer parts thrown away every day. Who would not like some of the computers that are thrown away because they could not get them to work and figured they would buy a new one because GEEK PATROL was going to charge them as much to fix them, as a newer one was going to cost. Oh well I guess I have gone too far off the subject, Man I would still like to have one of those trucks. And if they split the hydraulic-cylinder into two parts they could fit it shorter between the two bumpers. But will probably cost about $8000-$10000 extra just because they can, with excuses why.
