nyc in general is very over-congested as it is and normal it has high latency compared to how it should be.  its nyc period and nothing we can do about it except complain.  everyone i know in nyc has a problem with there internet and some dont even know it till we test it out.  good luck if you find out what it is but i'm sure nyc just sucks

maybe it does now but maybe he has to get new lines for internet and maybe he can get a sick line now.  just maybe

what kinda pc you have cause it takes mine about 24 megabytes a second transfer rate when my slowest pc hits 100%cpu and thats a 2.5 pentium 4

not really if you want them to be half way decent then 768 is not enough and you'll get capped after a while. its upto you what you need but i wanna see you do this on cable without being capped the first month

this should also help us see the difference in speeds with the same ISP but in different states. i'll post my speeds in a bit i am restoring my other comp and my settings are screwed right now on this comp.

i doubt that caus ethe connection bars on halo are based on upload speed and i doubt you get all full bars on comcast cause i played on alot of comcast and everyone complains of lag except the ones that are cheatng.  when i host a 16 man game of halo i upload at over 170 kb a sec transfer rate which i doubt your comcast can do by far even after 2 more upgrades i still doubt you can do it.  CABLE ISNT MEANT FOR HOSTING AND SDSL IS.

send me a friend request to one of my gamertags below and i wanna see your laggy comcast. sorry man not tryng to bash but ALL cable i played on lags.  maybe cause i get host so much i'm spoiled and notice it easy but hey i see it and ping the host everytime i dont get host and every cable isp gets pings from 50 to about 200 ms and thats horrible to jump that much in 1 game and the hop count is alot more too. 

no matter what connection you have someone somewhere will lag cause thats just the way it is.

hmmm...Comcast, despite its regional saturation issues, is definitly the better bang for the buck...not too far in the near future, i see *DSL services becoming extinct, as it can not compete with the speed, reliability & low cost of cable pipes.

i doubt dsl will go out cause people with cable in populated areas will get horrible speeds and if everyone got cable there systems wouldnt even provide half the speed the do now with all the extra traffic.  it has to be there to provide more options for people who want more or are in bad areas where cable is over-populated and dsl is the better option like me. 

just as i always say ITS ALL LUCK what you can get and how its gonna be and there is no better between cable and dsl cause they are about even from what i see and fiber is the only better 1.

really cause i have an xbox modded to load a bit faster.  i'll try it later and yes they do force host when they get it most of the time cause i see the server is very close and still getting 160 ms ping to is and half the people have red and yellow bars.  i know when they force cause i know people that do it and it takes longer to go from 3 to 4 when the game is starting. 

thats why i ditched optimum online for dsl cause it was horrible speeds anywhere from 600 to over 950 kb upload and 4500 to 9500 download and looks like it might be impossible to tweak from all the traffic.  optimum is supposed to be awesome but not here they arent so be careful cause i know that sdsl will charge you a disconnect fee if your contract is not up.

i play on a few crappy cable connections when they somehow get host over me in halo 2 and YES they suck most of the time but sometimes they are ok but never great even in the same state as me and your not supposed to host on most cable ISP's anyway cause its against the tos but some might allow it.

also my speeds on my dsl are the same all the time even during peak hours of the day and my pings are also the same all the time un like cable.  sorry but i just hate cable and had bad a experience with it and everytime i play on it they suck horribly so keep the flaming to a minimum 

un-install it then look in programs and if its still there after un-install then erase it and install + update it again and it should work.  i had the same problem and that did it for me

you can usually figure it out without a program but i would like to try one to see if i am right.  my pc slows down on lan at about 17 MB's a sec transfer rate at 90 to 100% cpu but my other pc hits only about 40% cpu and the are about the same ghz 1 is 2.5 p 4 the other is 2.8 p 4 and both have over 1 gig of ram.  i am wondering why 1 pc is getting roasted by the other with cpu usage.

they just oversold there lines and i am getting sh*tty pings andd speeds cause of it.  they sent me an e-mail too that said they sold too many bonded t-1's and they have a higher sla than me so there packets get sent while i get packetloss and sh*t speed and i get no credit and nothing done.  wtf it that man i never heard of such a thing have you?

Anyway, read Verizon's tos, they along with all consumer ISP's don't guarentee speeds or even 100% uptime either. If they did, a lot of people would be getting refunds on thier accounts, because they wouldn't be getting what their paying for.

cable sucks for hosting games i wont ever get cable even if they offer more than fios or dsl cause it has higher pings and speed isnt garrenteed.  IMO i wish all cable would die cause
