  1. I am having a jacked up time with speed tests only on my computer and it just started.

    I've elimintated the following:

spyware(that was detected) modem was reset, router was reset and removed from the network

I'm getting anywhere from 18-109mb download speed at various sites and my normal 720-736kbps upload(RoadRunner teir 3 was dumbfounded and wanted a video so i got him one.)

I'm posting it and pictures for you guys as well.

I've reset the tcp/ip, i've tried optimizing (I HAVEN'T TRIED CABLENUTS YET BECAUSE I COULDN'T FIND ONE THAT WAS CLOSE TO MY 15-768(WITH TURBO FOR DOWNLOAD SPEEDS BURTS UP TO 22)

When the net wasn't screwing up I was averaging about 19-26mb download

tracerts are fine, pings are fine

    nehp8h.png

Let me know if you guys want anymore information

    aim is ohioranger4x4

    yim is mdnytecruiser

I'm restarting one more time then i'll be back up for the night.

  2. come to think of it a buddy did have his gateway lappy over back in the spring and it was getting good speeds and signal..

my lap is a dell d600 internal card, don't know if i can do anything about upgrading it, or rigging an antenna for it.

wireless card is a broadcom  2001 2002 year stamped on the circuitboard

    broadcom 570x gigbit integrated controller

but dell truemobile 1400 dual band is where the net comes in at?? wtf.

maybe use the broadcom instead of the dell?

  3. You might want to hard-wire that same computer into the router to see if there is a boost in speeds.  If there aren't, it's not a wireless problem -- could be the router, the modem, the connection, etc.  If the speeds do improve, it is most likely a wireless issue -- could be signal strength, interference, adapter problem, etc.

yes when the laptop is wired it's great..normal where it should be.....

    just dont' know.

chanell is 11 it was 6 but change. signal is always strong.....no 2.4ghz phones, we have a 5.8 i don't know

  4. the router works great. but I have some concerns...if I recall correctly the wireless worked great a while back, but now it seems like I can't get above about 3 mb's is this typical for wireless?

I'm in the same room as the router, full bars and 54mbps connection.  Am I stupid in the fact that I'm overlooking the issue that wireless doesn't give speeds of hardline?

    lets here it guys.

    I don't know anything I can do..

I've changed firmware to the DD and have changed the xmit signal, i wonder how fast i can go without overdoing it?

  6. O YEAH!!!!!!

got back off hold and she says(just like the 4 other times i have talked to them) who is the maker of your pc................. I'm going to have to tell you to call them..........................

and like every other time i say it's not the box. i can go buy 200 pcs and i'm going to get the same results, you people don't get it do you ...............

FALLOWEARTH HELP ME BROTHER...............I'M GOING INSANE LOL.......

Where is the applications for being a call center person? can i do it from home?  I have to be able to read out of the manual right? and check boxes as i tell the person to do things that they have done numerous times before........... I swear man..........i don't know how much long i can keep it up.............

I want to talk to the head cheese in charge of the customer relations there man.

  7. ok my patients are growing really thin..

again i had to talk to them.

for the last month my speed has sucked and right now i am getting 500kb's to 1 mb but upload is 700 which is right on par i guess.

o have i mentioned i have the 15-768 connection with RR.

i am going to get rid of it and get dial up i swear to the cablegod.=

    this is stoooooopid. lol

the girl wanted me to run a tracert i asked here where to and she said start run cmd.....ok yes where what site..

    O u've done this before......................NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  8. So, did bypassing the router help??

that would be a big nope.

been 2 days with 1.2mb net when i am paying for 15...and all they can tell me is it's my computer.......................UM NO i have tried 3 different computers with and without router, wired and wireless...same results no matter which pc....before and after reboot of the pc, router, modem, cut splice addition of nitrous oxide to the rg6...............<---that was a joke.

after about an hour on the phone telling this woman that it wasn't the pc's(after she insisted it was) they are sending a tech out to hook his pc to it and check my line here...

but here is what is crappy...

i have done a speed test since 4.30 for every hour and up until now it's been the same result 1.0-1.3mb's    now at 11:50 it's tested on 3 different sites at 12.9-15.1mb's

    :::.. Download Stats ..:::

so this is where i am at....tech will be here friday 12-4 and i bet it works great for him....unless it will die down again for the daytime...........

it's not like i'm in a neighborhood......although there might be too many people on one box or something around here....i'm in the country( 5acre lots country like....major road and gas station is 4 miles away.... we just got city water 2 years ago

  9. telling me it's my computer....all 3 of them that are getting crappy net.

transfering me to a network specialist that is probably going to tell me it's the # of ports i have open  there is 2.

don't know why but it says google. and I don't even have google up...don't have a bar either.

I'm still getting 1.2 mb or less speed...this is bs.

that is what i have right now.....

  12. well see it doesn't matter what computer i use. either desk or lap, desk direct to modem, or desk and lap through router speeds still the same.

now however I am getting pretty good speeds with the desktop turned off and just using the lap through the router wireless... i just tested and got 12k with the 12k file. but upload still sucks..only 768 or so.

i did just about everything on that list to the desktop and nothing helped.

found the ports but can't close them up....neeed help guys.

seen the same ports active when the desk was up, but now there are no ports open.
