I'm on the 8/512 that upgraded to 15/2....well lately I have only been testing out at 1-3m and 6-7 for up......I have cablenut and the 8/512 tweak, but now i need a 15/2 tweak...

rr says it my router  wrt54gs version 1 old but never have had issues out of it...firmware is the latest and greatest. tweaked with j67 page and still only get 3.03 out of the desktop

i've tested with rr.com test, speedtest.net, testmy.net and all the others

please help me with my issue, I want to use what I am paying for.

    thanks

  4. we used to have the 8/512 here in northwest ohio

right now my laptop and my desktop are getting 10-12k down and 800 up

it wasn't like that until we went out of town and I hooked my laptop up to a 20/2 connection in winona lake, in...

wonder if I brought some speed back with me lol.

I have cleared my cache on both computers..so wonder what is going on?

I haven't received any emails or anything regarding the upgrade.

i thought it was going to be a  10/2 or a 15/2 connection.

  5. I have been getting all kinds of emails that are spam, but mainly they are from many different accounts never the same one. here is the what the email contains

bowmen amoco  demarcate amatory.  carbone bogging bangkok arkansas  boy abrupt.  alizarin barney

councilwoman  board  curran cytolysis   bookseller  blowfish bequeath.   chinaman  cretan delicacy  chrysolite catherine  aaron    dense.

What the hell is that? I have searched yahoo and stuff for spam with random words and all i come up with is hash buster or something. how can i get rid of this S#!t?

    thanks guys.

  6. how old is your house? chicken wire in the walls will interfere with the wireless signal.

we have a  new house sending a signal out to the inlaws next lot over, about 600 ft and it was having a hard time keeping signal, we have the linksys wrt54gs, so we got a external base from linksys and the 7db ant's and they keep a nice strong signal all the time. my new laptop however with the internal wifi get sketchy about the end of the driveway which is about 5-700 ft.

I would like to get an ant. for the outside of the house so i can go to the back of the property if needed but the property is 5 acres.

now my buddy has wireless at his house and getting a good strong signal from the house to the shop(about 200 ft wide open area) is difficult lol.

it also depends on what frequency your phones run on as well, some microwaves will interfere with the wireless also.

    hope my rambling helped

    goodluck

  7. I recently got a D600 for surfing the web and such while I'm away from the desk. It's working fine, kinda.  The desktop is connected via wire and is getting 80 latency, speed is 8000, and 384, the laptop is wireless, I just installed the drivers and such cause i did a fresh install on the laptop, and it's only maxing out at 2500, why is this?

How can I fix this? I should be connecting and getting the same speeds as the wired. I'm 6 feet from the router and the external ant. is on the top of the desk in plain site.

I'm using Dell Wireless Wlan Card Utility(could this be it? but none of the others worked) it's connected at 54.0 with excellent signal.

    Can someone help me please.

    thanks in advance.
