    So is something wrong with the site even though my speed does appear slower...?

    HELP!!!

  4. I have a DSL Modem and what I did was go to Run, CMD, cd, then typed in ipconfig /all and found my settings to be the following:

    C:>ipconfig /all

    Windows IP Configuration

            Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : DFCV8Z51

            Primary Dns Suffix  . . . . . . . :

            Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid

            IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

            WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

            DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : ms.com

    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

            Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . : ms.com

            Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel® PRO/100 VE Network Connecti

    on

            Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-0C-F1-E9-44-51

            Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No

            IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.47

            Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

            Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

            DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

                                                71.250.0.12

    Then what I did was set this information up as my static ip.  Should I have just left it alone?

  5. I setup a static IP on my single home computer (no network).  Should I have done this or should I have it setup as "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically"?

    Does it matter that I don't have a home network or am I totally not making any sense.  Please help.

  6. The following is my results from the SpeedGuide.net TCP/IP Analyzer:

    TCP options string = 020405ac0103030401010402

    MTU = 1492

    MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

    MSS = 1452

    MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising your MTU value.

    Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 1045440

    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 4 bits (scale factor of 8)

    Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 65340

    RWIN is a multiple of MSS

    Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:

    511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)

    255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)

    127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)

    63888 (MSS x 44)

    bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

    Your TCP Window limits you to: 41817.6 Kbps (5227.2 KBytes/s) @ 200ms

    Your TCP Window limits you to: 16727.04 Kbps (2090.88 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

    MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

    Time to live left = 56 hops

    TTL value is ok.

    Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

    Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

    IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 01011100 (92)

    Precedence (priority) = 010 (immediate)

    Delay = 1 (low delay)

    Throughput = 1 (high throughput)

    Reliability = 1 (high reliability)

    Cost = 0 (normal cost)

    Check bit = 0 (correct, 8th checking bit must be zero)

    DiffServ (RFC 2474) = No valid DiffServ equivalent. See the TCP Optimizer documentation, or RFCs 2474, 2475, 2597, 2598, 2873.

    Do I have to change something here...?  No valid DiffServ Equivalent?

  7. By the way, after installing Firetune, my speed has increased to 1520Kbps

    :::.. Download Stats ..:::

    Connection is:: 1520 Kbps about 1.5 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)

    but still slow for infospeed

    1454.5KBits 181.8KBytes

    [glow=red,2,300]ANYTHING [/glow]else I could do.  I really don't use my computer for anything other than the internet so is their a way that I could configure my computer to use its resources primarily for internet use?

  9. I do have both of these (fasterfox AND EventID patcher) but do you know of any others...?

    By the way, when I click on the link this link in firefox http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=tools&PHPSESSID=3073cb03d1c950fd2de71f7529154fa2

    a blank page opens...

    but

    when I open the site in IE it opens up fine.  I have noticed this problem with several links (including this one) where I can only open it in IE.  Do I need to configure firefox so that it CAN open that link?
