  1. Still not happy with download speed in peak time. Only receive around 250 Kbps. But that is better than the 8 to 25 kbps I was getting with my DW4000. during peak times. Still on old bird and Freq. Upper level support says give it time to settle at NOC. I remember that line of BS from my DW4000 install. Hope they will but me on SatMex6 where all the new installs are for the HN7000S Your connection is: 1073 Kbps or 1.1 Mbps You downloaded at: 131 kB/s You are running: 19 times faster than 56K and can download 1 megabyte in 7.82 second(s) Member Ident:Username:Private CompID:612856066 Test Time:: 2007/02/12 - 6:57am Test Browser and OS info: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 Test ID: 9VCGPL8YN (if this is a screenshot go to testmy.net to see if this is fake) Diagnosis ^info^: Looks Great : 1.8 % faster than the average for host (direcpc.com) This was tested from a 2992 kB file and took 22.844 seconds to complete
  2. Thanks for the reply, the reason it does not browse is that for some reason XP does not let me change the old proxy settings from DW4000 install. Now I either have to use Internet Explorer or reinstall windows. For some reason XP does not except me as Administrator, even that I am the only one using this pc. The shop that built my PC and installed XP some how screwed up and he does not know what he did wrong. Question can I reload XP and not lose all my programs. Thanks

  8. Made the switch to 7000 pro account, and this is all I get. February 9th, 07:24PM - 299/34 kbps February 9th, 07:06PM - 365/54 kbps February 9th, 07:04PM - 430/41 kbps February 9th, 06:59PM - 466/78 kbps February 9th, 06:56PM - 401/142 kbps February 9th, 06:54PM - 561/153 kbps February 9th, 06:52PM - 455/105 kbps February 9th, 06:50PM - 391/134 kbps February 9th, 06:47PM - 480/119 kbps I am on Satmex 5, Support says not bad speed and upper leval said wait 8 hours to see if any improvement. Still have same dish that came with my dw4000, no water in anlog. I had a reprsentive from Hughes transfer from my DW 4000 to HNS7000. So nothing wrong with switch over. India supports says check use proxiy server box and install book says uncheck? Which is correct? This sucks.
  9. This is the reason for switching from DW4000 to HN7000S Hope I get better speed from it than this. Sure hated to give up my DW4000. Should be getting the HN7000S Pro Account in a few days. 10. Yes that was my DW4000 speeds during peak times. I was getting 1 to 2 meg. before it changed to Hughes. I see where some of you are getting over 1 meg. download on the pro plan. That was one reason I switched. Also fed up with spending several hours on the phone with tech. support to get my freg. changed and then in two weeks have to do it all over again.. They finally worn me down. I have no other option, if I want internet access.
  11. Hughes Net has finally got me so flustered with my speed during peak hours that I have switched from the DW4000 to HN7000S Pro Plan. You guys seem to be happy with it. What are your speed during peak hours? Of course upload has always been a joke. Any complains with the HN7000S. 14. Still amazing. Go HughesNet!!! ??? Great Speeds, we should thank all the people who dumped DirecWay, it open up more bandwidth for the rest of us. We also must thank this this site http://DirecWayreallysucks.net/ who turned customers away from DirecWay.

  18. Ran speed test on testmy.net I do not believe it is that fast. But looks good! When I ran test 2 minutes earlier on http://performance.toast.net/ I got 1923 kbs. I test using the shuttle+ text on toast and always test between 3AM and 6AM, no internet traffic that time day. Check out my 7 and 30 stats. over 2 meg. download speed. Not concerned about up load speed. Also a Hughes engineer switch me to Receive Frequency: 1250 MHz, Was on 1130.

  20. The change has taken place. When you log on to DirecWay.com, you will get error message, just click on the link in the middle of the page and you will be directed to the new site. If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly. Open the www.myDirecWay.com home page, and then look for links to the information you want. http://hughesnet.myway.com/
  21. Three Different Test one right after another, quite a bit difference. I tend to believe Direcway is correct. 22. I test my speed on toast.net, mytest.net and also direcway. I believe direcway shows the correct speed. The other two sites show speed to be 500 to 700 kbps faster than direcway. Some sites show higher speeds, just so you will test on their site. That way the sites gets more hits. Hope this helps.
  23. Quote from Direcway web page. 03) Q: What connection speeds will I typically get with DIRECWAY? A: With the DIRECWAY Home service plan, you may enjoy download speeds up to 700Kbps, with typical speeds of about 500Kbps to 600Kbps during peak times. Upload speeds, which are capable of reaching 128Kbps, are typically 70Kbps to 80Kbps during peak hours. With the DIRECWAY Professional plan, connect your home office to the Internet with maximum download speeds of up to 1.0Mbps, with typical speeds about 650Kbps to 750Kbps during peak times. Upload speeds, which are capable of reaching 200Kbps, are typically 100Kbps to 125Kbps during peak hours. Most of us should be happy with our speed, I am very satisfied. http://www.testmy.net/tools/database/s_engine.php?type=user_name&q=Private
  24. Wildblue seems a bit expensive for what you get. Check out this link for prices. http://www.4wildblue.com/About.aspx I will stick with my DW4000. I cannot see that Wildblue is better, except the upload speed. I pay $60.00 for 1.5 meg. download and of course real slow upload speed, which I can live with. The best download speed I have ever gotten with Direcway is 1589. That is using their test site, which I think is more accurate than other sites. I still use testmy.net and toast.net for a quick speed test.
