I'm upgrading to RCN's 50mbps internet and I'm in need of a new router. I've been a Linksys fan in the past, but I've been reading lots of negative reviews about their newer products. Any suggestions?

I will be moving this weekend, and I will need to cancel my DSL service. I signed up for a 1 year contract, which expired on 09/12. Does Verizon give you a hard time about canceling, or is it a smooth process?

First off, let me say the I HATE Verizon. I had no choice, so that's why I have it. I have the 3 Mbps service and it is VERY slow. Are there any settings that will give me more speed?? Thanks!

I'd like to know what's involved as well. I live in an apartment and I am interested in FIOS, but I don't know if it's feasible. Also, I have read that they need to install stuff on your computer and I'm not sure I want any junk on there cluttering it up. Is it not as simple as plugging it into your modem and/or router??

I have Comcast cable internet and I just hooked up a new computer. Can I use a different modem to connect to the internet than the one on my other computer?
