  3. Actually D-Way recommends an inline amplifier if the cable run is more than 150 feet on the receiver end
  4. Also, was on a router, friend was running WOW (he was desperate despite LAG)

  6. Wish I could test my cell phone on Cingular Wireless to see how good it works on there. But phone browser wont access site
  7. It would be possible to avoid network stuff as long as I set the program to monitor within the proxy. But doing so would require everyone to have the proxy on. Another option is for me to add a tab for manual configuration of IPs that arent to be monitored. Take note, I'm just a beginner i'm hoping to have this done in a couple weeks...but things including my learning curve may not allow me for awhile.
  8. But wait the FAP refills itself (old bucket theory) at say "50kb" for home users is this a constant process in that case say I downloaded a 2MB file in 20 seconds, within that 20 seconds would the refill rate have added 1MB (20s * 50kb =1000kb = 1MB)
  9. Thanks, I'm hoping to have it finished in a couple weeks (doing it during spare time in college) and be able to monitor faps up thru the small office plan (with an option to set your own fap cap). Also, according to a few sites I've visited, DW raises the fap for users by about 20MB from 2-5AM EST (I think those times are right) and I plan to add an option to monitor this increase in fap between these times if user wishes (maybe not in first release though). Basic settings for faps right now are as follows DW6000 Home - 169MB DW7000 Home - 175MB DW6/7000 Pro - 350MB DW6/7000 S.O - 500MB Any other idea's are welcome guys I'd love to have input on possible stuff to add to the program. I'm relatively new at programing but picking it up quickly.
  10. I am currently building a program that will monitor FAP usage that will be free to all here (take that copperhead.cc). Now...onto questions. Does D-way monitor downloading this way (Using example of 175MB FAP for a DW7000 Home Full Fap at start) Hour 1 - 20MB --- Hour 2 - 10MB |--- Add all these together and get 125MB No restrictions enforced Hour 3 - 40MB / Hour 4 - 55MB --- Then at the start of hour 5 would direcway subtract hour 1's MB from the 125MB starting you with 105MB Used in the Fap at the start of hour 5?
  11. Toby you said the main concern for the laptops is browsing? Well if you just want 1 connection just get a good Wireless Router. Now remember that signal strength is gonna be different throughout your house and different appliances can cause interference. You should be able to get near if not your wired speeds with a good signal strength (if no other computer was using the connection). But as your signal strength falls expect your speed to fall a bit as well.
  12. Tried your Css file there. Didnt notice anything changing. IN IE6 (W/ Proxy) :::.. 16. The topic I referenced above used TCP Optimizer and I already applied what was there in that one, but I'll look over the topic you referenced
  17. Tim I used to have the same problem with the coolwebsearch. Have you looked in your Add or Remove Programs? If I remember right coolwebsearch allows you to uninstall from there and you have to do one other step on it too. After that run ad-aware or spybot or whatever and remove any left over registry values. restart and see if it comes back up
  18. Here is what I've got set. In IE > Lan Settings > Proxy options both boxes checked > have it going directly to the same proxy DW uses > block using proxy on certain Network IPs And ran Cablenut settings for Sat. After doing so I found this topic http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1703.0 And knowing the DW6000 is about the same as the 7000 I decided to give it a try.
  19. Consumer Plan, 59.99 month. Lowest speeds I've ever hit was downloading a HUGE update for a program (roughly 90 Megs) but it was still traveling at around 50kbps. My average downloads are around 70-80 Kbps depending on amount of sources and their own speeds.
  20. What difference on the bridging would it make. You pay for the extra cable modem activation extra account ect. If you are paying for the speed there should be no control on how you are using it within your home (unless we are talking running a server in your home in which case check your ISP's Terms & Conditions). The idea isnt hard, and infact is relatively easy to do. Might wanna check your router and such first I agree bout the two WAN ports idea. Would be easiest. http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetail?sku=5354756&SourceID=k40132 This router here has Dual WAN ports and is very configurable. Even has a wireless solution built in for those laptops. Just an idea though dont know what you are planning on spending ect. The router would work for 1 connection as well however and allow the laptops to be wireless.
  21. Eh well I editted my post boys mentioned movies and mp3s never said of what however. I proudly support my favorite bands and movies by buying them however, I will download a song here and there to see if I like it before buying the albulm (Oh...and downloading isnt illegal as long as the file is wiped within 24 hours of recieving it or last time I checked that was the rule). But still staying away from the law is my prime concern. Bad enough to be a long haired gothic dude walking around a "hick town" and having cops stop you every other day to do "A routine check" of your license and ect. Where as truthfully we all know they are discriminating and labeling me due to my appearance.
  22. aroo? Yet somebody asks about Limewire earlier and you dont say that to them hmmm
  23. Trillian never got my A+ on IM software. i did like the "slight" memory boost from when I was running Y! AIM! & ICQ back in the day but it had no other plusses in my opinion (maybe its just me and near 1GB RAM and page filing out the arse for extra space) It also isnt as "versatile" as the messengers by themselves if memory serves me right. I think I had to login into Y! Messenger via their program just to send and recieve files and use voice. But its all up to you man. Has the newer build added these fuctions? Maybe I'd be more interested in running it.
