First, there is a program that came with my brother's phone software, and there is no option to delete the 2 icons. Also, is there a way that you can hide certain icons and not others? (IE: all music is stored in a folder on the desktop, and itunes would lose the location of it if I moved it, but do not want it on the desktop).

I agree with dlewis23... there is a possibility those speeds are cached.... try cleaning temp files and retest.. dont hit the back key!

the broadband market is so big... with advanced technologies broadband speeds are rising per day... even some of the undeveloped countries have basic broadband connections...

sorry dlewis23 never saw your post before but yes.. fixing these problems would take alot of time and still who says the laptop will still be virus free... it may have embedded itself to other crucial files needed for the laptop to defend itself from other viruses.

meaning leaving security holes open for it to install more viruses.

Its better to use the the original xp restore cd that came with the laptop as it will include all the drivers you will need to get the laptop working again... as in a laptop you cant open it and find the models.... etc etc...and some laptops drivers are hard to find so.... bare that in mind.

The virus has probably over righted the original explorer.exe app and editied it to the virus infected one. so it basically means you will have to FORMAT and INSTALL. I will post here how to do this....
