  1. just thought id let mods and admins check only and then introduce it as a little sharing thingy... lol.. at 48Kbps... its ok.. will get someone in uk to check see if they hit near my upload cap lol... just putting my new cable connection to full use lol see if its all it says it is... feel sorry for other users in my street.. hey thats what unlimited is for....

  2. to all users who can see my ip address... can you visit my ftp site and download some files.. try the hd wallpapers just testing how much traffic it can handle....

    btw its on port 2021 if you can & cant access it then post here.

    btw the files are on my pc and i am in the uk in the midlands so if you find it soo slow then thats cause you are just far away from the host computer.

    oh and post the speed you download at aswell...

    i know im asking alot but it will only take bout 2mins... but  would do the same for you...

  4. I have configured a new ftp server using the snapin iis in xp pro my computer firewall is all alowwed but i cant disable the firewall built in the modem how to i do that..

    its a scientific atlanta supplied by my isp... when i hit 192.168.100.1 it just gives me opton but none with port forwarding... so does that mean i cant create an ftp server...

  5. Sorry guys i asume the post author is in the UK. Unfortuantely anyone who is on Upto 8Mb speeds will not actually get 8Mb the max you will be able to get is what you line can take...

    it varies alot e.g depends how far you are from your local exchange and what is the quality of the line.

    at post author http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php visit this and then tell us what it tells us UNder the heading BT ADSL as that is a rough guess as to what you can get...

  6. The speed that the MaxDSL Rate is worked out is by so many factors....

    1. The Distance from your local exchange...

    2. The quality of the BT Line.

    3. The Quality of the fiber at the Local Exchange.

    4. The software and tools at the local exchange.

    Oh you can get more than 1650Kbps as i reached 2.2 as you can see from my sig.... and for a quick comparison of BT and Telewest look at my sig..
