no router XP Sp2 firewall is off and Blueyonder Netguard firewall is off... give me a random port to try... i maybe making up one thats not even one... lol

if my modem allows p2p connections then surely i could use that port...

I have configured a new ftp server using the snapin iis in xp pro my computer firewall is all alowwed but i cant disable the firewall built in the modem how to i do that..

its a scientific atlanta supplied by my isp... when i hit 192.168.100.1 it just gives me opton but none with port forwarding... so does that mean i cant create an ftp server...

Sorry guys i asume the post author is in the UK. Unfortuantely anyone who is on Upto 8Mb speeds will not actually get 8Mb the max you will be able to get is what you line can take...

it varies alot e.g depends how far you are from your local exchange and what is the quality of the line.

yes apart from a few new server locations they havent done many changes... but sometimes it doesnt let you test whereas you can on speakeasy.

lol next year NTL:Telewest will be known as Virgin .. just cant you get NTL or Telewest as i thought that where you couldnt get NTL yoou could get telewest....

The speed that the MaxDSL Rate is worked out is by so many factors....

1. The Distance from your local exchange...

2. The quality of the BT Line.

3. The Quality of the fiber at the Local Exchange.

4. The software and tools at the local exchange.

Oh you can get more than 1650Kbps as i reached 2.2 as you can see from my sig.... and for a quick comparison of BT and Telewest look at my sig..

i used to be on the stupid bt service... man do yourself a favour and get broadband with telewest... ring bt and say your having soooo many problems and you have had enough..
