well it started when he came home from college.......and usually his laptop is always online, and when im home the desktop is on...so both are wireless and running at the same time...but i'll try everyones solutions and get back....

Ok...I use my playstation for online gaming and lately i've been "lagging" not sure if your famliar with that but its when move choppy or something of the sort...kinda hard to explain, but about a month ago this happened, and i used to have one of the best connections, always using me to make rooms or be host, but now its like my connection has slowed down, usually when i turn off my router and modem for couple mins speeds go back up, i was wondering if its my modem being left on for so long or my router. its a linksys wireless g 4 port router, and nothing besides my ps2 is hardwired, desktop and laptop are both wireless, me being on computer never made it do this, but my brother has come home from college and is always online, but any tips or suggestions?

could someone plz list the connections types from lowest to fastest....example 56k dail up to t1 t3 fiber...etc thanks in advance...some guy said he haid t12 but i told him it was b-s..just wanna get it right lol

yea i found it out...thanks...all also put on MAC filtering....so it should be pretty secure

its a linksys wrt54g wireless g router version 2.....i kno how to enter my ip address into my brower and open the linksys controll panel sorta thing...but i cant find out where or how to turn WEP on

as of right now my wireless router is not protected by WEP, so really anyone could get internet access, could someone tell me how to put a WEP on my router....thanks in advance

ok...yesterday i brought sony's handheld system...which is great by the way, but yea it uses a 802.11 b wireless router to connect....i have a linksys 802.11 g, and the psp can still connect so thats good...well theres a scan on the psp so u can play wireless at hot spots...well in my neighborhood i picked up about 4 other routers with different signal strenghts. Mine was the strongest, but i realized that mine wasnt WEP protected i guess....So anyone could just connect to mine, 2 out of the 4 were encrpyted and had to have a key to connect....is there a way someone could tell me how to encryp my router or connection.......thanks in advance

does anyone know if my speeds would be higher if i direct connected my modem to my computer, instead of using the wireless g desktop card???

the girl that was showing us the rooms or sum....i thought the highest was t-3 too....but she said it didnt mean nothing to her but that its really fast

i just go back from a freshman orentation type thing for college, and they said pretty much the whole campus is wireless then they said in the dorms that they run a T9 connection.....i was like :haha: lol.....can anyone tell me what kind of speeds i will be looking foward to?

well your speeds not from earthlink so......doesnt really matter , if u want to post high speeds i'll go to my dads office and then we'll see whats up.......i was just wanting speeds from other earthlink users

yea i think it was a network because he had about 4 other computers in his office area...so yeah talk about fast i was like damnnnnnn, and he gets to use it everyday must be nice....

I was at my dads office recently , he works for the aif force, and i happened to come to this site. I noticed the internet was faster than my cable at home so, hadda test it. The first dl test said it was 251 times fasters than 56k...then the second one said 301 times faster. I was going to post the speeds but, because it was an air force computer and all that didnt want ip to fall into wrong hands and what not..Could anyone tell me what type of internet thier running?

yea i kno earthlink wants like 9.99 a month for homenetworking but they cant stop you from buying one...niether can they tell if your using a router unless they come to your house and see it. Just try unpluging the modem then pluging it back in, and if your router still doesnt get a connection you might have to put that linksys disc that came with your router back in and set up the router again

I have earthlink cable...what kind of speeds everyone else getting...??? and does anyone know if they plan on upping the speed

yea ok.....we cant even get into windows to do a system restore and we cant check to see if its a virus either....so i dunno

yea i did...i thought posting in here such this about about desktops, maybe somebody would know, maybe they didnt look in the help with other things section....and if you were talkin about the caculators i dunna whats that gotta do with the desktop...but if you were addressing my problem i would show you my desktop if i could get to the damn properties
