I agree 100% I have a banner for testmy.net on all my pages. It is one of the older banners as there are no new ones yet avaliable. It does show how much the site has changed since those early days, and have noticed quite a few refs on my logs. If you are running ie7 you may want to try tools, and click on diagnose connection problems.

When posting you mchi speedtest it would be interesting to see the state. or region your testing from. There is no way to compare from the database. Wondered how many Mediacom users test here on testmy.net I am in MS and my scores have gone further south than I live!

www.testmy.net has got to be one of the Nets best kept secrets! When I first got high speed internet service in 2003 I had a hard time finding a place to check my broadband speed. I ran across this site in early 2004 and have been thankful ever since! Had always stayed away from forums because they seemed so cold to the "newbies" that were not familiar with the ways of forums & networking.This was not the case here on testmy.net but just the opposite. I remember trying to get my first sig to work with no luck and CA3LE jumped in and showed me my mistakes and helped me along. Now with a membership of over 40,000 I have found the answers to most of my questions without having to ask. There is a wealth of info to be found here along with what I refer to as the "Benchmark" of broadband speed test on the interet. The file properties as I checked show this as not being a protected file however it is copyrighted. I would bet that these videos are stored online and can be called up at a later date. The show plays fine in Winamp and Windows MP All you would need to do is add a new bookmark with the file address for playback at a later date. This would save a lot of disk space. Windows media player will allow burning to disc on non protected media from mms servers. as will Winamp... I checked them both. It is quite easy to do on Windows Media Player 11 when the show is from a "wmv" and unprotected. Good luck!!

I use Neo Trace pro. It gives all info on each node to the source. Have tracked some listeners that were trying to relay my stream within a block or so but it generally gets me back to the client ip.My friend just down the road will show up as being from PA when logged on my stream and he uses the same isp I do....mchsi.com where I show as being at my registered lat./long. You should be able to find my address if your logged into my stream server. Am I lost yet? :They should show the city from my profile.

If you want to see who else is connected to your system you may want to try this utility. Active Ports Active Ports - easy to use tool for Windows NT/2000/XP that enables you to monitor all open TCP and UDP ports on the local computer. Active Ports maps ports to the owning application so you can watch which process has opened which port. It also displays a local and remote IP address for each connection and allows you to terminate the owning process. Active Ports can help you to detect trojans and other malicious programs. Note I have been using this for years with no problems, however if you are running Norton's security program it will not let Active Ports run and thinks it is some kind of trojan or something. . I have been getting strange results when I try to check my host stats on here. Am I the only one getting these errors? Makes it hard to compare stats... Somehow mchsi.com has been removed from the board as a host. It used to be here.

Do you mean the applications in "task manager"? It should show the window you are viewing on testmy net. Mine is showing I am replying to this....

When I started this thread I was shocked at the upload speeds however that only lasted a few days. Now it should be called "slower downloads again" I don't know what happened to the Hosts Stats for mchsi.com but if you try to verify everything is Gone from the db. Any other Mediacom users having that problem?

What happened to the mchsi host stats? Says there have been no UL/DLs in last 30 days. I know mchsi is getting worse by the hour but they have been my host for years. .

Seems Mediacom only supports those areas where they have competition. I have over 1700 test in the database here and only a few measure up to their advertised speed. Cable companies are considered a "public utility"...... Just think if ya only got 50% of the electricity you were paying for.. such as 60volts vs 120volts.

Well my speed is still below advertised, however tech has started calling me several times a day along with messages. I noticed the other day that I now have my orginal...1st ip address back and on my sig here it says my ISP is AT&T WorldNet Services..We shall see

Here is the latest I just ran. I am on mchsi.... The head-end is 2miles down tha road. Have RG-8 cable from the pole to my pc. No splitters, routers, etc

Check ya speeds today!! I feel lucky to be online. Seems to be this way with all mchsi users. Check the forum on dslreports. Lots of unhappy campers there.
