Just a normal day for some... After a reboot sys runs a scandisk on my slave drive. All seems ok.. system boots but when I try to access my slave I find that all my files dirtories.. EVERYTHING are all "00001.chk" files ie lost chains. Now I have .. well ya get the drift. It moved all the files into 5 hidden dir's and all fils are now read-only/hidden access denied!! My question is WHAT HAPPENED? I paid my "gravity tax" Is there a way to avoid something like this

the new look works!! Also the upload stats show me a truer view of my avaliable bandwith as I have a music stream online. Keep up tha good work!!

Gotcha beat.. Have a 386 with JVC cd-r. Has a beta vers of Win 3.21. Still works!. My old standby favorite is my P-III @ 450mhz. It does things those store-bought "hp" only dream of doing. as you said Swimmer.. updat is the key I have logged over 180 updates since installing xp sp1 on here. BTW anybody remember the Dec Rainbow?

Ah yes SP-2. I installed it in early JULY. It took forever to install. Everything was just peachy. I was installing it on my friends. Got home and had a note from MS that I needed to install a "Rollover" patch. Big mistake!! A crash from HELL!! Was able to restore. Yesterday I was told to go to auto update for sp2, but first install the Rollover first.. Would not reboot and all my restore points were gone. Watch out for that patch.. It will bight ya .

Ya... that is a good site. I got my cwshredder there.With IE6 it is a must to upde the patch. I swear by SpyBot! The "Tea Time" option lets know when a hijack is taking place. Is especially helpful if ya have to go to a "sleazy" site for one reason or another. I found out the hard way that al lot of those cool "free" animated graphis as in Hotbar are feeding grounds for pop-ups. There iare some good util'st http://analogx.com/ has a good port-mapper&blocker and lots of other goodies. They are all very simple to run and the doc's are shorter than this post I am running 3 audio streams and http server on this old P3 and it's still kicking..

I like all tha additions. Now all I have to do is learn how they work!
