  5. my guess is that your capped 3000 / 384 Kbps it might be a mistake by your ISP i dont know..... try this unplug power for your Cablemodem for 30 seconds and put it back in ( that force cablemodem to download a new config from your isp), do a new speedtest and post result VanBuren
  6. cool, i dont know if CA3LE has forced the NIC to 100 Mbps full duplex yet, but the upload is the same for me, around 1600 to 1750 Kbps VanBuren
  7. looking good What speeds are you getting?
  8. make a speedtest without router, 2992 KB test download and 1492 KB test upload, post result do not mix TCP OPtimizer with Cablenut, you need to choose........ I thought you you wanted to use TCP Optimizer, but then dont expect a big upload increase VanBuren
  9. you can use TCP optimizer, download it here https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=65 open it, choose Cable, choose Optimal, click apply and reboot VanBuren
  10. Is this tested without router? i can give this a shot but dont expect too much, you say your download cap is 4 Mbps, what is your upload cap? you shoot 78% of cap down now, lets try to get 90% install cablenut https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=64 you can bypass router during the time we tweak, so we know it dosent mess things up open cablenut adjuster and click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry and reboot now run this test http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks and copy result URL adress and paste it here so we can see it. i will make a cablenut file for you after you provided this info VanBuren
  11. no problem Swimmer, i understand TCP optimizer has helped alot of ppl so its not garbage, but once you seen what cablenut can do, its not hard to choose. VanBuren
  12. alot of those bugs was in the first version of SP2, the one you download today from windows update is not the same as the first version they released... quote "Regardless of the type of system you own now, it's a good idea to install SP2. " source http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/software/os/0,39024175,39163261,00.htm VanBuren
  13. relax dude i been around here so long now and seen what problems TCP Optimizer has made to alot of ppl with slower bandwith or diffrent types of MSS then 1460 on cable a RWIN of 256960 is just silly and will slow down most connections below 3 Mbps or so... cos TCP Optimizer do not care what amount of bandwidth you have......... one size will never fit all VanBuren
  14. yea you have loss to your adress from westcoast try this also make a upload test without router, bypass it and connect direct to modem. VanBuren
  15. hey jlester and welcome to the forum try DW forum, there is alot of info how to tweak DW there https://testmy.net/board-21 good luck VanBuren

  18. i would install Netlimiter on the pc that your surfing with, and limit the transfer rate during the time when you know your bro playing a game. www.netlimiter.com VanBuren

  23. What problem do you get while booting? Is it only a Dell issue? Cos i never heard that before.... SP2 fix alot of holes in SP1 and also edit your TCP stack and for me, with the p2p fix installed it running better then SP1 The Unwanted Services is a problem for SP1 aswell...... and i have to add my system is not very l33t, im on a AMD 1700+ and 512 MB of ram and its snappy now VanBuren
  24. TcpOptimizer help alot of ppl but dosent work well with connections below 3 Mbps and it dosent tweak upload. Do not mix diffrent tweaks, decide what tweak you like to use and stick to that. I take it you already have Cablenut installed download this attached file and unzip it to C:ProgramCablenut open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry in top left corner you see file, lonad custom settings file, browse to C:ProgramCablenut and dubbleclick on the file you unzipped now you have a few values set in adjuster, click save to registry and reboot, also reboot your modem for 30 seconds. Make a new speedtest, use the 2992 KB test for download and 1492 KB file for upload and also make a new tweaktest post result good luck VanBuren
  25. very nice Just, man you will now hate your connection when you come home VanBuren
