  6. I think government has to pay a part of the fiber to homes, cos its too expensive for most ppl. Atleast in more unurban areas, in big citys the install / customer should be alot less If our government didnt pay 50% of all installation costs im sure that i would have adsl right now, and fiber would just be installed only in the big citys. i live in a small village 20 KM from Lule
  7. yea smile There is no way to tell what best RWIN is, calculating it is the best way to go, 128480 usally work good in that range, this is why i dont like TCP Optimizer, it has fixed RWIN values no matter what bandwidth you got. did you turn off windows scaling when you changed RWIN? quote from my guide "If your calculated RWIN is above 65535, you need to set Tcp13230pts to 1." so you should set it to 0 now. 8. yea but it will get cheaper as more and more ISP dig fiber, bandwidth in US today is very overpriced, compared to scandinavia and japan. Middle Europe also has overpriced bandwidth. OR we are underpriced in scandinavia and japan hehe VanBuren

  11. you said it yourself, this is what you said in another post "my actual download speed is 1.3 Mbits even though to the eyes of the world (Particularly my customers) my conection is of 15 MBits. Trust me, nothing illegal here, not even the software installed on my computers, just having fun legally. If you are interested, what this softeare does, is to download only a small part of the images, somehow like zipping the images from the internet, the result is a poorly displayed image , but you wouldn
  12. look here 8.25 MB/s and my netgraph shows 98% of 10 Mbps 8.25MB/s = 8,25 x 8 = 66 Mbps ( speedmeter ) true speed 1250x0,98 = 1,225 MB/s = 1.225x8 = 9,8 Mbps VanBuren
  13. luwigie had a DW 4000 and tested speed against a swedish server and he got crappy result in TCP but in UDP he had 10 Mbps downstream that make me think its possible to go fast even tho its alot harder in TCP, cos you need to shake hands several times with server and client (sending acknowledge packets). 14. good job Hahn Im sure CA3LE appreciate it, i need a spell check too for the forum, but aslong as ppl understand me i dont really care VanBuren
  15. Yea probl, with smaller RWIN it will take more time to get full speed, but overall its better to have a smaller (not tooooo small) RWIN and get stable results and faster browsing. VanBuren
  16. almost all filehare speedmeters is very inaccurate, you also use several TCP streams and can never be compared to a single stream. to find a more accurate speed, you need to use taskmanager
  17. some ISP block this feature and ping, it can also happen if you got real bad packetloss, but if you have no problem with speed its probl blocked. VanBuren
  18. hey justin follow the guide like you did with win 98, just choose the xp 2000 folder instead http://www.testmy.net/forumz/viewtopic.php?t=605 VanBuren
