  4. Fast is an understatement. 6.25-6.5MB/sec sustained speeds.
  5. I've tried it with both Windows and Linux Firefox. Just keeps repeating the 12MB test over and over again. That was last night though, lets see about today... Nope. Firefox 3.5 and IE 8 do the same thing. It hits 12MB and will not pass that page. EDIT: I'm on a 50/10 Comcast connection that runs 62/20 with powerboost. ::::::::::.. 6. I can't do the dual test. My connection blows by it so fast it keeps running the 12MB test over and over again.
  7. Comcast 50/10 - 57 a month for employees :haha: We just launched D3 in Denver today and I was the first to sign up for Extreme hehe
  8. Those tests are cached. It isn't even possible to hit 70+ mbits/sec unless you have a DOCSIS 3.0 modem AND are in a DOCSIS 3.0 area AND have the Extreme 50/10 tier since powerboost has been locked down on DOCSIS 3.0.
  9. I've just been busy. Kinda forgot about this place for awhile lol. Thanks for the welcome back though.
  10. Actually, I pay 20 a month because I work for Comcast. LOL. 6Meg is free, 8Meg is 10, 16Meg is 20.

  15. Doesn't do me much good though. Comcast appears to have capped the downstream at 21Mbps - no more huge powerboost. I'm on Blast by the way. We're supposed to get residential Ultra and Extreme between 3Q and 4Q of this year. Business services already has it and is selling it throughout the metro.

Comcast took away my 30Mbps Oh well it was nice while the test lasted lol. I pay 10/mo for 8Mbps (I work for them). My sustained download speed is always in the 1015-1040KB/sec range. I can't wait til they boost us to 16Mbps here in March. *grumbles*
  17. :2funny: Oh man you really crack me up. Want to come over and start some downloads yourself? Tell me... since you think you're god and all... if the servers are capable of it... and Powerboost starts at the beginning of a download... then how come I'm hitting much higher speeds when I'm downloading? Chained Powerboost? Superboost on mega large files? I'm totally at a loss at how you can look at the speedtests I've hit on this site and the numerous pieces of photographic evidence and flat-out call me a liar?! I swear. People and their know it all big heads.
  18. Thanks tommie. I didn't get lost. I just have a billion forums that I post on. Insanelymac, Ubuntuforums, Linux Questions, my own personal forum. Plus I have Myspace, AIM, and god knows what all else. lol
  19. Dude seriously, just drop it. Nothing I'm going to do is going to make you happy. I've run your speed tests, I've shown you clips from active downloads. Hell, one of the active downloads even had an average speed... I even ran that net burst program you asked me to run. Its NOT powerboost! Something tells me that someone just doesn't want someone else on the forum to have the same download speed that you pay hard cash for and only pay 10/mo for it.
  20. Comcast hasn't launched 16/1 everywhere yet because of the fact that there's no competition requiring them to. All Verizon areas should be 16/1 now. We've got our work cut out for us with our purchase of Adelphia... you think Comcast's network is bad? Try being an Adelphia customer. Most, if not all of their areas, are still on NAS networks instead of DAC. Without DAC, there won't be any video on demand, higher speed internet, or any of the new services coming down the pipes. As far as my speeds... I really don't see how someone who's within 200 miles of those servers can sit there and say that my speed results are somehow disproving the fact I'm running at 30Mbps. The CLOSEST server to me on that list was 968mi... Either way, I'm sitting here riding the waves of insanely fast internet so I don't really care who believes me and who doesn't. But when it lands, you can be damn sure I'll be back here telling you all "I told you so". It really doesn't make that much of a difference though if you ask me. I have to connect to at least 5 different servers in order to get my top speeds so its pretty useless for most things. It basically just gives you bragging rights and that's it. Now if they'd boost my upload speed, I could definitely get some serious usage out of it. But I'm not holding my breath on that happening any time soon.
  21. I didn't know about their naming scheme. I never said I was a guru or anything but I can assure you that 6.10 is worlds better than 6.06.
  22. Yes, I've used Raptor drives. They're blazing fast. I just don't think they're worth the additional cost for most users. To really get the most out of them, you have to put them in a RAID configuration, which just drives the cost up higher and higher. That said, the Hitachi 7K250 was found to be almost as fast as the old Raptor drives. I don't know about the new ones but the Hitachi was the fastest 7200 RPM drive in existence and its the one that I currently have in my computer. I can say comparing it to a Raptor, its definitely pretty close.
  23. You're right about the 236.8, I was wrong on my note but T-Mobile doesn't support multiple timeslots on their EDGE implementation, nor does Cingular or any other US provider. That's straight from T-Mobile, btw.
