I have been running my FTP server for a while now but i am curious as to if there is a way to stealth the open port without really closing it and blocking it. I have a virtual server setup in my router, well actually one for remote desktop and the other one for FTP that way my router lets me get in. I have my server setup as a username and password in order to get in. If anybody has a allot of experience in servers i would appreciate the extra hand on making sure everything is secured. Then again i dont know why a hacker would want to spend time on trying to get into my machine when there are so many other bigger targets.

Nothing like a campus connection. I remember back in the day when i was in college in 1996 and windows 95 was a big and the mighty pentiums 133 lol

Your not alone i pay 49.95 a month for mine, if everything is going good i can get around 20 to 25mb down and my upload is only 512, upload sucks there suppose to be moving it up to 1mb up sometime down the road. there having some network issues in the town that i am from so now im only running around 8 to 10mb.

I am just curious on where everybody is from because i believe that the ones on here that are scoring high live pretty close to the servers or either are running on a network at there job that has incrediable bandwidth. I live in South Dakota

you guys suck lol j/k, I just whish that my ISP would get off of there butt and get things back up to par like it was a month ago. God i hate dealing with ISPs and there suppose to know it all techs lol yeah i can remember those days of 25mb connection speeds but lately its been 10mb on a good day

I paid 600 for my laptop does everything that i want on it, its got the fast AMD Turion64 2.0GHz processor in it and a gig of Ram DDR 533 and a 80Gig SATA HD and ATI Radeon Express 1100 along with the HyperMemory. I guess i just like the mobility part of it nothing like pakcing up your system with you in a flash. Now since im not that smart to put together a laptop so i had to go and buy one lol but my other systems is a sweet one well actually its my Gaming/Sever system that one runs XP pro but my laptop has Vista Basic on it right now but soon to have Business addition on it after i get my disk that i ordered. Im in the process of upgrading my Server but im waiting for the AMD's true Quad Core nothing like haiving 4 cores into one, also in the processes of upgrading the drives. going to put a WD Raptor for the main drive then 2 500Gig secondary HD's along with my 2 USB HD's for additional back drives. and of course with my D-link 4300 wireless gaming router was a sweet addition to impliment a Gigabit eithernet. you know for 4000 dollars i could build one hell of a mack daddy system if only dreams could come true lol
