if you want to keep her off the net use this handy tool on her comp.

That would be rather effective... lol

Even if you got it working, satellite isn't very ideal if there's anything else available...

Welcome to the forum
I don't know much about Wildblue, so I can't help you there, but I wondered why you would switch from DSL to satellite?

Ya think it could be MCE constantly trying to use it even when I don't have (the prog) Media Center up and running?
Disable all the MCE services and restart... that should fix it.
MCE releases the card when not in use, but not all programs seem to notice that...

Can you make the file read-only?
I doubt that would stop windows from doing anything...

Years back we used the free trial... luckily we managed to cancel before they charged us, although it took some work, even back then

Just from the screenshots I don't think it does much of anything useful...

I'm not real impressed, sorry. If I wanted to test my speed against FTP servers I'd just download from a FTP server myself.
And your software isn't multithreaded either as you say it is...

Welcome to the forum
Don't worry about it as long as your speeds are fine (and they're pretty good)
That duplex tester isn't very accurate from my experience. Also it could be that your modem is half duplex.

Update... from my limited experimenting, it responds to Sony remotes. Which includes universal remotes programmed to a Sony device code.

Ok, I've got this semi-working right now. However, I have to use a different remote. The MCE remote signals are processed at the driver level I believe, and the only 3rd party driver I could find is for the v2 remote.
Also, the receiver seems to only process signals from particular remotes.

lol... nice
While these monitors aren’t absolutely necessary, they add minimal cost to the overall package and the flashing lights immediately draw the attention of nearby children, whether they know what a Genpet™ is or not. In our tests, few children were able to resist the draw of one flashing package, let alone an entire wall of them.
so, whats your oppinions on this...
