  1. bwahahahaha.. now i don't have restrictions with my canopy.. i can edit and reconfigure everything.. now they know that there's no problem with the canopy that they are using.. it's the base station that has a problem.. they installed a new canopy and the intermittent connection is still there.. the field technician told me that he will be creating a report that there's no problem with the canopy that i am using.. and the problem is with the base station.. we figured it out after accessing the canopy and testing the link to the base station.. no need for tweaking after the repair of the base station.. POOF!
  2. @fr0stbound i'm not from STI. I graduated from Informatics (BS ComSci - Cross Class of Networking and System Design) @smartbroken_user i'm currently working on it
  3. thanks d00d! low percentage chance of success are the one's i needed able for me to become more frustrated and do the best tool for it... and then they will soon realize that they really need it.. then POOF! it became koko krunch
  4. yup, he's right.. not all.. you just need first to check the provider of that freeware.. 30% of the freewares are totally trojans and spywares.. so you need to make sure that you are downloading the right freeware
  5. i will do my best to figure it out for everybody's sake.. OT: i love this community there are lots of interactions and topics all at the same time.. i would definitely stay here and help you all guys with arms wide open.. no cash included.. everything is free..
  6. this post is for the others who use limewire and/or other p2p client softwares// download spy sweeper update it uninstall limewire or other p2p client softwares (coz they're the spywares) fully scan your computer for spywares optimize your browser remove all the files inside the cookies, prefetch, and temp folder re-scan your computer again for spywares (full time scan) go to your OS search box and search for the keyword *limewire* or *put here the name of the p2p client software* (asterisks are included) remove all the folders for limewire and/or other p2p client softwares tweak your settings.. and you're done restart the computer you'll have a faster connection after that.. cause basically spywares eat lots of bandwidth.. and if you have virus inside your computer.. i would suggest to reformat your computer and analyze where you got that virus... sometimes you'll get it from diskettes (if you're still using it coz i don't), flash disks, and free softwares (freewares) that you download from the net..
  7. it's just a test.. so if ever my theory is correct.. i will ask SM to do it and see for themselves.. at least they will have a solution to their "mass" problem.. and it's for a good but not overcharged price hahaha
  8. that's the thing that i will do haha thanks man .. i really am so mean.. i'll just ask the technician to deactivate my canopy restriction.. and tell him to sit down and relax.. bwahahahaha *ebul laugh* @tdawnaz hmmmmmm.. that's a good idea? product trainer and quality specialist.. i can give them a proposal for that and it's for 55k bwahahahaha *ebul laugh agen* by the way.. when i was disconnected earlier.. i tried to ping 10.0.0.1 and guess what i received.. lots of request timed out.. that means that the canopy is resetting by itself once in a while.. or there is really a problem with the canopy.. to the others.. try pinging your canopy [ping 10.0.0.1 -t] if you receive lots of request timed out.. report that by email and don't forget to call them after you send your email.. they will surely change the canopy.. cause that's one of the big problem for wireless.. if a modem/router has a request timed out when you are pinging them, that means that there is a certain capacitor or chip that is not working inside.. and the resistor that is attached on it, after the capacitor or the chip, is resisting the flow of signal going in and out of your computer ********** ouch i was disconnected again after i click the post button.. hahahaha what a connection..
  9. haha.. i thought he's mad at me thanks for the advice troll XD just kiddin hahahaha.. don't you worry i will not fry it.. i'll double check that it'll never be fried just for an update.. TSR called me last night.. and they were like apologizing for all of the inconvenience that the service is giving me.. but i'm sad that the field technicians who came here last 3 weeks ago were terminated cause they did not double check all the settings from the canopy.. what they did is just install the canopy and they're done.. no change of settings from the new canopy that they've installed. they will send a new field technician this day and they will make sure that the connection is fast they way i'm expecting it. we will see what they will do. i was laughing yesterday cause the one who's talking to me was a supervisor and they were asking me if i can apply to them as the're senior technician.. awwwww how sweet but i rejected it.. i will accept it if the offer is good.. but they're only giving me 15k a month.. not bad but my currently salary as of now is thrice of what they're offering me. i'll keep you all updated here of what's happening able for us not to tweak any settings on the canopy but retain the speed and service that we all are expecting.. i did remember what that supervisor told me.. "we know that you are a good technician, and the technician that we will be sending you is kinda scared of all the questions that you will ask him.." hahahahaha.. afraid of getting terminated? nah.. i'm not like that, i just hope that the technician will do his job and fix the problem and i will be silent for him to keep his job.. i'm so mean~
  10. it's kinda like that but it's different.. i used it before to maintain a good connection.. it has an electromagnetic pulse included on it that amplifies the range (it's like mixing a wireless range extender (netgear) from a modem that has wireless capability (2wire modem router)) and the dish that can amplify low frequency to a higher frequency.. i'll just try it first before i can advertise it here. i've done this before, back when we all are still using dial up services. i've revised the router's capability to a shotgun modem where it provides 49-53kbps on each of every computer in the network. even though there's a law here in the philippines tweaking the outside source and mainly not the canopy itself is not part of the smartbro's agreement. the only thing that i will do is to attach something on the post (note: not inside the canopy) and provide it with a wireless push settings. that is why i'm searching for more information about how smartbro's canopy push the signal in and out of the canopy without me doing anything on the settings. the only cyber law here in the philippines are trademarks and hacking.. but what i will do is my own trademark.. and it's my thesis when i am still in college.. i just remember the time when i created that dish.. i've networked two computers wirelessly with the device that i have created. i'm still analyzing the canopy's work arounds.. but thanks to frostbound that thread is a good start hihi.. @resopalrabotnic why are you mad at me? did i say anything that made you feel like that? hmmmm.. are you an agent of smartbro that is why you treat me like that?
  11. thanks for the welcome tdawnaz ^_~V i really do want to meet guys like you who tweaks, program, i don't know if you guys hack, but i hope so, cause it's the basic of programming, and of course help people by interacting all kinds of problem like mine. trojan virus? as my username? hmmm lemmee think.. well, that's a good question. (i'm sorry for the OT but i really do have a topic for now) back to my topic... i am L2 technician in Geek Squad and AT&T 2wire department. i work as L2-TSR in AT&T and i work home as L2 technician in Geek Squad. i do remove virus, spywares, and blue screen errors of death, as well as Macintosh connectivity wireless problems by using the remote access feature of the OS. i love lurking around inside the registry and the system and i was once called by my supervisor as Mr.Virus... then that time i research for the best virus that i've ever encountered.. then POOF!! it become Trojan Virus.. a worm-type virus that can creep inside the system and gets information. When provoked, it cloaks and regenerate itself to another location by using the registry. That's the history of my username... End of OT.. back to topic... this is my connection right now after a couple of tweakings inside the registry and with the help of regedit+cablenut and my head is aching now.. haha :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 426 Kbps about 0.43 Mbps (tested with 386 kB) Download Speed is:: 52 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 120 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 386 kB) Upload Speed is:: 15 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2007/11/16 - 10:02am D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-ZCTD7R9H1 U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-LZXCOB021 User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) [!] not bad... now i can play again.. @resopalrabotnic i'm just stating the truth behind the local inbound call centers. i'm an agent and a customer... i do understand how the customer feels when they can't get what they want. we filipinos as customers are still on the lowside of being mean to the filipino agents and "service" that they are giving us. yes, i do know what's the problem of smartbro's system.. but when you ask the agent about a certain problem.. what they do is fool you.. as if they "assume" that we don't know what we are doing and they can say whatever they want cause their the gods of connection. i've learned this from one of my trainers... "don't put an ass between you and me. that's what excellent customer service that you can give to your customers" i do apologize if i am mean with my colleagues, but if they will not change the way they give information to their customers.. i will stay and become their worst nightmare.. by the way guys.. i have an image of a homemade satellite dish.. i'll post it soon.. hope that will work for all of us.. i'll try it first.. i'll just look first for the computation of the distance and radius of the poorman's wireless extender.. haha

  13. the agent who receive the call will give 3 warnings. if you still continue, then the agent will be forced to put you down and ignore your request. but you can call again to talk to another agent, the agent will then see the case created by the previous agent and he/she will provide you with a disclaimer able for you not to give a foul attitude towards them. a piece of advice, don't swear, just be mean... that's the key able for them to understand you. another key to the call is that you need to ask the agent is he/she honestly know what he/she is doing... if they don't know it, ask them to transfer you to the qeueu or to the other agent who can solve the problem most of the agents (80%) don't know what they are doing. they perform test and stuff to eat time for them to know a solution to your problem. the problem with SM CSRs, 95% of the agents are not technically/properly trained or oriented, no idea about the issue, didn't experience a problem that we are having right now, what else... only 5% of the population are computer geeks and 95% are just "computer literate" meaning they just follow the call flow.
  14. i will be their worst nightmare if they will not give the speed that i am paying... i can't play for 4 weeks now
  15. i work in a call center that's why i know what templates are they going to use for a certain problem. i remember when i called them.. i told the CSR agent that i am a L2-TSR agent and i do fix modems, router, and connect wireless that's why i know all the scripts you are giving me. the agent don't know what to do when i told her my position. she even tried muting me and shouting for support, her problem is she didn't verify that i am on mute.. i was laughing when she's back. cause she was cursing and swearing (but not on me) she's like.. "guys help me.. i'm talking to an L2 agent and he wants to know all of his settings.. i don't know where to find it" evil meh haha
  16. who knows about this kind of theory?

  18. i call them everyday. send them emails everyday. give them updates about my connection. i even asked them to give me the access to the canopy if i was restricted in accessing the canopy. cause i've fixed the problem all by myself by accessing the canopy itself. but when they started restricting me from accessing the canopy.. that was the time that i can't fixed my connection problem. i am tweaking my connection every time and it's giving me the connection that i wanted. but there are times that i need to revert back to the other settings.. i even have 5 file settings from each time stamp and use them to give me at least 300+ kbps. smartbro's field technician don't even know what they are doing. i am asking the technician what's this for and that and this and those.. he can't even answer me... you know what? i even tried asking him a question which i know just to test them if they know what they are doing... and they can't answer me. it's just a simple dos command.. which is the "netsh winsock reset" to be honest. CSR, TSR, and Field Technicians of smart don't know what they are doing... they're always telling me the same nonsense answer to my question. well i hope there's a way for this.. but i do know that the settings for the cablenut are somewhat effective.. cause they fix the registry.. and the registry are the only one's who control the in and outs of the network...

  20. hi guys.. i'm just new here in your forum (TMN). i am reading all the posts and work arounds about how to tweak and boosting up the speed of the connection and i did all of them. i can't access my canopy anymore cause what i did the last time is i enabled the DHCP on my canopy and after restarting my computer, that's the time that i can't access anymore my canopy settings/portal. i'm still having a problem with my connection. intermittent connection to be specific, but i did all the tweakings and work arounds that i can do to make my connection fast. attached is my current internet speed. and i want to boost it up cause the game that i'm playing is not accepting the speed that i have now. i've been playing that game for about 2 months.. and after 2 months my connection goes down, then i can't access my game anymore. this is the speed that i'm getting right now... ::::::::::.. testmy.net test results ..:::::::::: Download Connection is:: 243 Kbps about 0.24 Mbps (tested with 386 kB) Download Speed is:: 30 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 42 Kbps about 0 Mbps (tested with 97 kB) Upload Speed is:: 5 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2007/11/15 - 10:51pm D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-UQVL6OMGA U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-WPEHK3JXB User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) and these are the settings of my cablenut.. any suggestions with my settings so i can boost up my speed to around 512 to 700+ Kbps? i would greatly appreciate for the help that you can give to me and to all of the supporters of this forum.
