  3. I'm actually a registered user over there - I've been using that one primarily but for some reason for the past week or two I've been getting really screwy results. Anyway, here's tonights, which seems to be more or less on track with previous results from there.... 2005-03-25 02:23:32 Speed test @ nyc.speakeasy.net 6088/708 kbps .s1 link Copied from the "My Tests" List. I'm registered over there as Knight_Shyft as well... Honestly, didn't think it was "not legit" but curious as to what to expect for a baseline(higher or lower than what I've seen elsewhere. It's really difficult to say "I've got a Great Score/Speed" without testing over an extended period of time and looking at an all around average. Very cool to have another option to compare average connection speed! Thanks for the link & info. Much appreciated.
  4. I had the 3300/256 package then Called & got the Gold package the day they did the most recent rollout here in Massachusetts & have been above advertised speeds but that's always been the case here which is very surprising since I'm in a 30 unit building & have 3 computers on 24/7 through a router & all 3 are using a software firewall as well. Definately can't complain..... so far.
  5. Thanks for the Welcome php - Nah, no disappointment just found it amusing more than anything else - I've been using a number of different test sites for a few years now & ever since AT&T took over roadrunner up here I haven't hit anything over 8 - 9000K - Roadrunner was great because they didn't have a clue & just about everyone had their modems uncapped & running full tilt (Ahh the good ol days in NH) lol - I think I'm almost too close to the bafserv test site for it to be much of a reference anyway to be honest - I'm in Eastern Mass now & typically use sites that are in the midwest or western US for a more median score since I do a lot of online gaming on US servers. I'm curious, if these scores are fake where here would I go to get a legit. test? :::.. My GF is using her computer right now so these results are probably a bit lower than they should be as well. I was also reading in the forums that Zone Alarm slows down the connection? Curious since I use ZA(V. 5.5.062.011) on all 3 systems & post at or above rated speeds - Almost wondering if taking it off & using something else would actually boost the scores I already have.
  6. Hi All - have been using the tests for a while to track my progress & finally decided to register & post a couple speed tests. I've noticed that for some reason I get much better speeds on the mirrors - I thought that it might be a cached test but these are the results after I manually deleted my cookies, temp, temporary internet files, history & deleted the index.dat files through admin login. I'm running XP Pro SP2 with a buttload of manual & software tweaks as well as the SP2 pagelimit fix. I should also note that I'm behind a router sharing a connection with 2 other computers & using the Comcast Gold package. This first test was from the regular test without the progress bar. Second test I didn't post because I hadn't deleted my cache & thought I was getting bogus results....... :::..
