And I am guessing you got FireFox from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/
And Avast from http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Home-Edition/3000-2239_4-10019223.html?part=dl-85737&subj=dl&tag=button
And do you run a software FireWall ? And please not Windoze Firewall.
Hopefully you do not have an infected file that you backed up and restored.

haha..sorry, forgot to give credit where credit was due man...good guess, right on target! didnt mean to take the credit for your answer.
Nah. We is supposed to share the credit for fixing stuff.
But the Net is full of posts where for whatever reason, a firewall just decides to silently block something. I think Norton is a bit famous for that.

And I win the guessing game of what was wrong. Yay for me.

So Google once again violates Net Neutrality.
How you ask?
Well I have 'Google.com' as my search engine page link(not Google.ca). So today I click on the news button and notice a Canada news section. I though that was odd. So I click on my usual 'Sci/Tech' section for the latest tech stories. Then I start reading it and notice a lot of Canadian tech stories. And not very good stories either.
So I see that Google once again is being IP Address, country code specific. But I don't want the Canadian site. I want the site that I choose and thats the U.S. '.com' sites.
Being redirected to a site that you did not choose is censorship. And to make someone have to click around to get the site that they want is a pain in the azz.
For the U.S. news site of Google...
http://news.google.com/news?ned=us
I also do delete my entire browsing history, etc., every time I close my browser. So no cookies to be used to keep a preference.
People in the U.S. would riot if this crap was pulled on them. But Canadians are pussies when it comes to sites being redirected to a Canadian freaking version.

Is Comodo firewall silently blocking it, due to an update?

Thanks for the attention to my thread, guys. I can count on TMN members to come to my assistance and damn quick too.
TMN members do come quick. Unless they is snoozing the afternoon away.

Might be time for Pixie to try out Linux. Pick up a slightly older machine at the local computer shop and try it out.
Or at least let the kids use the Linux box instead of the main machine.
I saw a signature quote the other day about
"If you really want the data that is on your hard drive, you will have at least two copies of it".
I have two plus all my pictures are also backed up to DVD once I unload the camera. But if I really wanted the pictures, I would of printed them to photo paper at the drug store.

CyberDefender may now be a Rogue program............. Uninstaller does not actually work.
Both free below. Download, install and update and scan.

Might this help? You did not put an error code. Or your firmware on the router is in limbo.
ok guys and girls for error 102 you need to check in devices to see if there is a ? in yellow on the device list(in your computer), if so then right click on it and click update driver and just do it from the disk then you can use windows wireless configuration, which is always just as good, if you do not have a yellow question mark then you need to un-install the router because you are trying to install the router on dlinks wireless program when you have already installed the drivers for windows to handle. find which one you router is on the list then right click and click uninstall; and try again.Install CD's are evil.

Maybe uninstall 'network magic' and do it all manually. Could be a conflict. And access the router via wireline instead of wireless.
Software to make it easy, sometimes makes it harder. Hope you didn't have to pay for 'network magic' yet after the week trial.

How about....
http://www.wateen.com/ as the ISP in Pakistan.
Speed test here on this site. http://www.testmy.net/speedtest/download_speedtest.php
And how about speed varies(calculate=accurate?) and there is a limit(cap) to data rates?
-
You can also do(in windows) ,,, start,,,, run ,,, type in, cmd ,,, and then type in, ipconfig ,,,, that should show you the default gateway IP.
My Router(non-Dlink) default access IP is 192.168.1.1 and then I just use the routers access pages to set things up.

Can she only watch Standard definitions video(TV) instead?
Possibly she is using HighDefinition Video and that will take a bit off your connection.
I might have my numbers a bit off but,,, with TV(IPTV ) over internet, you need a minimum of 7Mbps for two standard definitions IPTV boxes. And if you have two IPTV on at the same time, it can reduce your leftover Internet speed to lets say 800Kbps to 1.5Mbps.
Each HD IPTV can possibly use at least 3Mbps. And maybe 2.7Mbps for each box for standard definition.
And the IPTV streaming has a quality of service control that locks out bandwidth for it specifically to prevent buffering.

Waiting on an E-mail back at the moment ive been keeping Logs from day one knowing that Xplornet has problems but my Neighbours both have xplornet same package and are running 1.8-2.1 Normally, something just feels wrong
Just log in here and do a couple of tests a day. It's a fair Internet based test without any, ummmmmm, discrepancies. And sometimes the 3Mbps speed is a suggestion. It all depends on what the 'bandwidth to users ratio' is on a tower. Because really, a 3Mbps package should stay above the 1.5Mbps package 24/7. Not that the CRTC cares. Just look at the circus with DPI and throttling questionnaires going on right now.

Yea. Oppps. I was gong to edit and didn't see it was past time.
Try these two. Or call support in the 2am hours. Reports of there being better people at that time.

Oh well. You have 30 days guarantee. Unless it's software based at the source for an actual throttle if the SM is aligned right. Keep a log of your speeds for the month, just in case. A good bargaining tool(be hardcore about it) if your speeds again go to crap after 30 days if you get your speeds fixed now.

I spared No expense its at its max, i even asked them they said theres no higher it could go and there shouldnt be a problem, I phoned and they just gave me the unplug your modem blah blah bullS#!t, and said To Test in safe most anti virus and told me to have a good day

Right after It was Installed literally 2 days ago, I was Getting 1.2M download, and A nice Upload, And literally after 24 hour's It just went to hell.. I dont know what this throttle is but i just wanted this for gaming and its not really doing it should i contact them? they said allw as well when they installed the tower we have crazy tree growth around us, But The tower we have up Was set up by them and is over 40 Feet not including the 2 pipes they installed, I just dont know what to do
Support should be able to tell you your numbers for alignment issues over the phone(jitter and such). A few people are getting ticked off over the mast issues. But that has to do with the AP being on a short building or tower, instead of up high to reduce the tower costs of the users.
2 days and issues. There are some poor quality installers out there. And until enough customers complain about them, nothing may change.

cool, thanks for that...im downloading the both of those, and im gonna check that site you listed also, but are those just virus protection programs, or do they offer firewall protection as well? and im guessing that i should probably remove comodo internet security before installing the two programs you reccommended? and if the two programs dont have firewall protection, what would you reccommend as far as a good firewall? i dont trust the windows firewall too much...i dont trust anything about windows too much...haha...but thanks again, im trying them out and ill let ya know how i like them
With Comodo, you have the option to only install the Firewall or the anti-virus. And make sure you uncheck 3 pieces of scumware(toolbars). I like ZoneAlarm, but Comodo firewall seems to be ok. And the Windows FireWall, I think, is still mostly one way. Meaning if you get infected, nothing to stop it going back out.
And I find Avast anti-virus to be very good, especially when you hit a bad site, it blocks access.
There is also Panda anti-rootkit. http://research.pandasecurity.com/archive/New-Panda-Anti_2D00_Rootkit-_2D00_-Version-1.07.aspx
Have not tried it other than once.
And MalWareBytes is a nice quick scanner.

Also try a larger speed test. Like the 1536 kB or the 3072 kB. Sometimes like satelite require time to warm up really. So higher speeds are acheived once that happens.
'nived ' should be a wireless subscriber(according to the package quoted). And with Wireless of Xplornet, there is a throttle that kicks in after a certain number of MB's some have said 6MB. Some have said 12MB. Depending on how loaded the tower is.
But higher tests are good for the 'download flow speed' on satellite.

Im paying for the 3meg Package is there anything i can do to speed this up?
Try another ISP?
Possibly an alignment issue for the real slow speed. Since you did a small size speed test, there is no 'Burst' or 'up to' kicking your speeds down. I don't know if you can do a push/pull test(up, down and side to side) with the SM(subscriber module). It's how the satellite dish users do it. So you push it a bit while doing a speed test. And see if any change in speed. It's also a good chance to see if the installer got all his bolts tight. And keep your hands away from the front of the unit to not block the signal.
And have any tree's grown up since install(a windy day may cause signal drop out). The 900MHz units can take a little bit of tree's. The 2.4GHz units need line of site(LOS). The newer 3.5GHz units don't have interference issues like the other ones.
Then there is also distance from the AP(access point tower). If your speeds have always been slow, then you could be too far from the tower to get 2X mode, and instead are operating in 1X mode(slower). Or simply put, at the moment with speeds like that, you are over paying.
If you did a speed test at 3am to see if the tower is not over subscribed(meaning speeds should be the fastest they can be, when there should be few users on the system).

Yeah, that smiley appeared once in my post . I forget what I did though.
I think that smilee in my CPU is smoking something tonight. I'm working on making some clean copies of my files for the new system soon and my CPU is lagging at times.

Don't know how accurate these Google searches are but........... China Rental phones. Hopefully no government bugs in them either.
http://www.beijing-visitor.com/index.php?cID=413&pID=1337
Bringing Your Phone From HomeIf you are already using a GSM phone it can be unlocked and a Chinese SIM card inserted. This service is available at Beijing International Airport or you can pick up a global SIM card before you leave home.

It's good.
Don't crash, unless I want it too.
And now Comodo free firewall works with it, to keep the little varmits in Windows from calling home.
And Avast free anti-virus has always worked with it.
I still prefer the XP interface to the Vista/Windows 7 interface. But I also prefer the XP interface over Windows 98's interface.

This CPU will be gone in a couple of months. Unless the MoBo dies first.
Hmmm. I see I have a smilee in my CPU..

There was a post on here the other week about wiggling(re-aiming) your wireless antenna and getting better speed. And that helped the poster.
