Seems the problems have hit me too
generallee76 replied to nbodkins's topic in Wildblue / Exceed / ViaSat
As one can see, with Wildblue there is NO rime or reason for the way their system works. I usually get great speeds during the AM hours and after that it goes to hell in a hand basket. Yes, you can get all kinds of Bull excuses as to why, and each Tech handles you differently. You can agree to have a tech come out and I ASSURE you that on that day the system will run at 150% better an you'll ever get and 24hrs after they leave you home it goes back yo normal. FAP is carp, I don't use 20% of my FAP. So for Hughs that is important on a 24hr clock most people don't use their FAP on either unless they hit the movies hard and heavy. The bottom line is Wildblue is just oversold but the will NEVER admit that fact, Hugh will be there soon also. So you have to take their s**t in stride and go on. One thing you can do is what Tommie recommends, EVDO, 3G , but where I live, I have tries them all and I still endup with less than what Wildblue gives you. If your still within your 30's cancel and try something else. If your in a area with 3G and you can use their wireless cards to work do it...... On an average 85% of the time I get much less that I pay for and I'm on the gold plan with is 1Meg down, but we don't guarantee the speeds. What you see below is my normal except during some AM hours. -
Italas22, who is your provider???? If its WildBlue or Hughsnet your screwed. IT IS WHAT IT IS AND THEY DO NOT CARE.... SO SORRY TO SAY BUT DEAL......
-
:?Conlollc just question....... With whom did you sign with???? and what device are you using??? Last but not least from what part of the country do you call home?? I am in Middle Tn.. I am in the process of changing service to AT&T using the recommendations of Tommy G. Good luck, WildBlue is a poor service for $70.00 a month. I have been paying that till this contact is over 57days. If I had to rate their service its like I pay for 1 meg, I am NEVER close to my FAP and I average 500kbps day, 250kbps evenings....... :uglystupid2:

Well I do have low "E" glass windows, Aluminum trim on the house and the base construction of the home is brick. I never though of these factors at that time, I never figured that low E glass would cause a problem. If I am not mistaken Tommy, truckers antennas all have a different gain, does it matter?? and how do I figure that into the connection with the wireless card or adapter?? I'm willing to retry anything at this point. My cell phone here at the house where my router is located, I have a full signal on it so I know I can see the tower without a problem.. I'm reaching out for your help....Thank you

I know and understand that Wild Blue s**ks as it is currently set. I feel they could do more to help the with the performance of their system (speeds) and it seems to affect different parts of the country, but not all?. I realize that the bounce time, mine is on average 1075ms will never get any better and thats part of the problem. I have tried using Fire Fox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. I have found that when using Google Chrome it runs faster but the afternoon slowdowns are still hell. I'm not really sure that this Propel accelerator will do me any good for the money. SO if you are looking at Satellite for internet look elsewhere. I took Tommys advise and tried using AT&T and Verizon's wireless networks and they still rendered me nothing more than what I have currently via Satellite. Throw their coverage maps out the door, they are not accurate. So to the much more advanced than I out there what about that Propel?????? Or anything else??

:undecided: So I will ask again, seeing todays is Monday...... Is there anyone from Via Sat 1 that wants to tell all existing Wildblue customers what your going to do for us??????? We would like to here from Via Sat 1 on this issue..... :knuppel2:
-
 Your 100% correct. I will not hold my breath waiting for Via Sat1 to help the existing customer base that are having speed problems. But if these customers were helped, they are actually the bread and butter of the company's word of mouth by an existing customer's saying yes, Via Sat 1 is a great company. That WILL NOT HAPPEN unless they cure the problems what exist within the current customer base. I have suffered with poor speeds TOO long. VIA SAT 1, step up SO AGAIN, IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE FROM VIA SAT1 THAT WANTS TO SPEAKUP AND TELL US WHAT YOUR GOING TO DO, THAN??????
-
:idiot2: Does anyone really think that this sale will make any kind of positive change for the existing Wildblue/Dish. It would be nice if the new upper crust would look at all the complaints that have been filed against Wildblue about their service and current abilities in certain parts of the country. I would like to see them help the existing customer base with their issues and then expand, BUT......So, if there is anyone out there with the new Via-Sat1/Wildblue can you tell us honestly what will happen...... I know it will never be real DSL but it needs to be better, at least what your paying for close to 24/7.  SO WILL VIA SAT1 HELP?????? LETS HERE FROM YA
-
Well put Tommie, it is what it is and I'm waiting for EVDO to come to me. VERY soon I hope from what I'm hearing. But at this point from what I've heard Wildblue is the better choice for now. There are many more horror stories with Hughes.net that Wildblue.............And why has the BBB not looked into the problem with either of these two companies??? Is there something going on there?? Who knows
-
It would be nice for Wildblue to actually experience the internet speeds that we do. Its also VERY amazing that up to the few hours before a tech comes out and after the tech leaves the system runs like shit. Isn't it AMAZING, the system NEVER perform like crap when NEVER the tech is here. They always come back to you and say I can't find any problems from either end. I don't understand......THEY DON"T WANT TO, Thats why....I feel the BBB should be up their BACKEND :knuppel2: :tickedoff: But its I'm sorry we'll give you a 30day credit and seems its all ok now... SAY WHAT BUT it is what it is and they know your stuck with it...........
-
If its like when the Wildblue tech came out to check my system, wouldn't ya know it was running at or above my plan "gold". There was not a problem with the system the entire time he was here. I gave him a complete listing of all my test scores for the past month and one half. The day after and all the way up to now it back to the same old s__t. Between 2 and 10pm its trash. If you need to download anything do it early. They over sold the system here in Middle Tn. I just hope there are better days ahead :idiot2:

I will say that Dishnetwork has been johnny on the spot to fix any problems. We have a 722 and a 322. They are great try them you'll enjoy them. They are easy to operate and program.
-
Dishnetwork has the best overall SD and HD lineup for the dollar. Direct can't touch it currently. Their VIP722 HD/DVR, is the best. I am VERY happy with Dishnetworks programming SD and HD, service dept, agents, equipment and etc. I would just look twice at their internet service, their you do not get any value for the high price.

Is there anyone from today that would like to post their upload and download speeds say during the time frame of 2pm and 9:30pm... I as a rule I get what I'm paying for prior to 2pm and sometimes not even then. When you state your speeds and times, please state what part of the country you are in. In middle Tn the beam is overloaded and service is normally poor most of the time after 2:30pm at least 6 days a week.. :knuppel2:
-
LOVE THIS GREAT COUNTRY OR GET THE HELL OUT. YOU DON'T SEE PEOPLE FLOCKING TO OTHER COUNTRIES, NO JUST OUR'S. I PUT MYSELF INTO HARMS WAY AND SOOO DID MANY OTHERS TO PRESERVE YOUR FREEDOMS. LOVE IT OR GET OUT. PLEASE DISPLAY THIS NATIONS COLORS TODAY AND FOREVER..

I must say, there is no question that can't be answered anyone of your fellow members and the wealth of knowledge they have. This is a great web site and learning center. Welcome aboard

Can anyone tell me where ATT/Cingular wireless Broadband stands in relationship to Verizon Broadband wireless modems? I am trying to see if the services are apples for apples. I looking for something other than satellite as my ISP, to be a constant speed or closer than what I have.

HUGHESNET HN9000 SLOWDOWN / HOST CHANGE
generallee76 replied to compuguybna's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
I hope you get somewhere with them. My son that is on Hughesnet now for 45+days is still running at above his levels max's. Hes on Spaceway 3 and is happy for now. I think I will stay with Wildblue, I know when to expect the slow downs. I have been up and down and up again that Tech support s##t and I ask, I think at this point I know more than they do because I have done all the tests, restarts, clean history, defrag, etc, etc. I hope you get out of your contract. Goodluck..... -
HUGHESNET HN9000 SLOWDOWN / HOST CHANGE
generallee76 replied to compuguybna's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
I must say with Wildblue I can predict the slow speed times, but I have never had a problem with them in going to any website. I have never been blocked from anything and I have had Wildblue for sometime. I do recall my son who is on Hughesnet is blocked from some sites. No problem for me with any domain or IP. Tonight I have been avg. 1.14mbps download and 137kbps upload. SOOO. I will stay with Wildblue till DSL comes along..... -
HUGHESNET HN9000 SLOWDOWN / HOST CHANGE
generallee76 replied to compuguybna's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
No I agree, Wildblue isn't much better, BUT my speed did not go to hell on the 32nd day. I can always predict when my speeds will go down. Peak hours M-F 3pm till 10:30pm +/-. I know the contract if is just paper. I'm not under contract with anyone at this time. I wanted to see what would happen with Hughesnet after the 30days trial, it also goes to s#@t. Something seemed to look too good with Hughesnet so I held back. I wish we had DSL or 3G in my area, but there is none. So I will stay where I am for now. AT&T is doing work in my area and of course they won't tell ya whats going on. So I will just wait and see what comes 1st. -
HUGHESNET HN9000 SLOWDOWN / HOST CHANGE
generallee76 replied to compuguybna's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
I guess ya could say, I am glad I stayed with Wildblue. My speeds seem to be better at time than those of you on Hughesnet. I am so glad I waited and see what happened after the 30 day period. I had heard that there was a speed change after a period of time and now I can see it happening. I am so glad I read these posts. I do believe that somehow the Gov. needs to regulate these companies and hold them to what they advertise. But it seems that no one on Capital hill wants to do anything about this problem. Ye :police:s they have DEEP pockets to fill sooooo -
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE FOR HELPING ME UNDERSTAND WHATS GOING ON WITH WILDBUE/DISH. YOU HAVE GIVEN ME A WEALTH OF INFORMATION. BUT LASTLY, THIS IS JUST A QUESTION DIRECTED TO WILDBLUE, ARE THERE ANY WILDBLUE/DISH INTERNET TECHS ABOVE LEVEL 3 THATS WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK IN DEFENSE OR THEIR EMPLOYER???? PLEASE SPEAKUP OR DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO SPEAKUP.

He has been on Hughsnet for about 4-5 months. He has been very happy with his service. He tested with me last night at the exact same time and he blew me out of the water and he has the base package on Hughsnet I have the middle package on Wildblue.. He is 45 miles wsw of Nashville in Hickman Co. They installed the new modem and he is on spaceway3. SO if this states anything to Wildblue, they just don't care.. I would like to know what speeds someone runs on Wildblue/dish say in Co, or Tx, or Oh, or say anyother state. Lets here from you, please.....
