use AVG free antivirus, its the best antivirus ever. Ive used it for about a year and Ive never gotten a virus, ever. The best thing about it is its the only antivirus software that doesn't slow down your computer. I used norton and avast on 2 different computers, then switched toAVG Free edition and what a difference in speed. Everything runs faster. Go with AVG free edition.

if your upload is caped at 384Kbps then no but it looks like you are on the 768Kbps plan, so you need some tweaking, if you can get the speed up to about 90k then your good. I would use calenut cablenut.com and use these settings http://motorchair.net/768uploadsettings.ccs that should fix your upload.

all ISP charge way too much for the higher upload speeds. Its BS because when you pay for the higher upload speeds to run something like a web server, Then the isp blocks the ports that it needs. all i want is 10/10MBPS for a affordable price, is that so much to ask.

Yes that is very normal for a download to drop in speed that fast , and that much. i have the adelphia 6mb plan and on testmy.net my true speeds are about 800-900KBPS but when i download form a site, for example nvidia,com it never gores above 600KBPS and thats because they eather limit the bandwidth, or the speed at witch a client can download at. on smaller web sites they can only afford maby a T1 at best so your download is gonna be real slow when compaired to what you get at a site like testmy.net when they have several servers and a very high bandwidth connection. 

awuster try to tweak that connection with cablenut, could be alot better.

1-10Gbps to the house i think not. think how much more money they can make by slow rasing the speeds. im sure intel/AMD can make a 5GHz processor are they going to do it no there not that stupid.

yes its very true, Intel is the company fronting this, The already have the cards and cables. 1GBPS eathernet is already hear, 10GBPS Eathernet is on its way, with in 6months, SATA 2 is on its way, with in 3 months USB3 will start making its way through in about 2-4 months, The speed is there only 1 thing has to be done and thats running new cables. So beleve it.

Its already started with verizon FIOS. Fiber tops out at 800MBPS so far with a distance of about 20,000 FT. The biggest problem is your HD can only right at 150MBPS when SATA2 starts being used then its 300MBPS.
