For those of you worried about your slow dw6000 upload speeds (being 1.9-14 per sec) is NORMAL - depending on the time of day , your weather conditions and the file size you are uploading the speeds of 2.5-4 etc is normal - I will agree that as of lately (past month or so) upload speeds have been a little slow but don't get upset at those upload speeds thinking you are the only one - everyone is getting those speeds

But A TRUE tip is remember proxing your lan settings gives you faster downloads but they do keep track of where you have been surfing..... and what use is downloading fast microsoft files???

Hi all happy new year - Here is a little trick that I have used that seems to work for me dw6000 -98se -400mhz amd If your downloads are stuck in "slow mode" here is what I do to break the "spell" tools internet options connections lan settings (make sure both your proxy boxes are checked) and THEN check the auto detect box too. The first few times after you check it and apply the pages will load slow..but wait and then try surfiing or downloading. after the inital delay it seems to speed things along. Then you can go back uncheck it and it seems to correct that slow downloading brain fart the dw6000 has. I cant guarantee it will work everytime but I have found that it does help me... then again I just might be crazy- but give it a try. It boosts my download speed when it is stuck around 600-700 etc.. After watching carefully over the holidays (yes I had time to eat alot of food and open gifts) I have observed that the dw6000 is completely controled by direcway based on latency. Over the holidays (25th + 26th I was experiencing 250-150 kb a sec downloads. So without a doubt the dw6000 is capable of greater downloads then direcway is letting it. It will take a brave sacrifice of someone opening up the Direcway modem and seeing what tweaks they can do. Todays speeds are back to normal at 120kbs a sec :::.. Also remember your speed drops if you hit that 168 mb threshold - about 8-12 hours to speed back up if you do (on home account)

HOWEVER cross pol will! If your cross pol is failing just a little or alot it wil pause your speed. BE SURE you dish is not failing the cross pol test. If it is it needs to be resighted by a direcway dude or duduet.

rev- question is what kind of speed did you have with the dw4000 system? the best i ever test is 1000-1100 with often in 500 -900 area. matter of fact direcway itself advertises speeds up to 500 down. so anything over that is pretty good. people saying that they are downloading at over 1.5 on the 4000 is puzzling. HOWEVER with a 4000 system you can tweak your settings (a dw6000 you cant tweak persay) so the question is what kind of speeds did you have with a 4000 system?

make sure to run your lcuu program and restart computer your tim to live ttl # should be 32 and max server #s should be 15 each after you run it.

i am running the regular size dish (.74?) and home account. $59.99 running 400 mhz and i think im on amc3 sat. also running win 98se make sure that your proxy is checked and bypass under proxy is checked as well and proxy address is filled out along with exceptions - i run faster with proxy on then without. about 100 difference generally - i enjoy this site and glad to be part of it.

try dragging just the address box up and to the right - it might be covering your toolbar - at left of A in Address there is a line click it hold it and drag it up and to the right - it might uncover your tools and then you can get to the tool options.

just hit f11 try that

what has happened is that the part of your view on the toolbar has been moved and then locked - on the view toolbar dropdown there is an option to "lock" it so you cant move or drag it. hit f11 does view com up? if so then go to it view- toolbar- uncheck lock the toolbar

First i want to say hello to everyone I love this site and just registered. - to help with your question: try going to "view" at top of address bar and make sure everything is clicked except cusomize. if that doesnt work right click on internet explorer then properties and then if you want your channel bar make sure that is checked - also try dragging what bar you see to another part of your screen (you can have your toolbar on the side top or bottom of screen) and see if that "unsticks it" and then try pulling the bar open by dragging it put your cursor on the bottom edge left click and drag it.
