Iam fixing to sell a second gaming computer I have on ebay to help pay off some debt's I owe. I was wondering how much should I expect to get for this computer? Here are the specs: Athlon 64 X2 5400 Nforce 550 Motherboard (socket AM2) 2GB Corsair DDR2 675 (2x1GB sticks) 256Mb Geforce 8600 GTS 120 GB SATA Hard drive 550 Watt Powersupply CD/DVD Burner Antec P180 Case Windows XP Home edition /w CD and CD key No Keyboard, mouse or monitor

Finally got another speed upgrade from my cable company, and believe it or not a price drop. The download speed went from 4Mbps to 8Mbps, and the upload went from 256 to 1Mbps. Here is a speed test I just ran. Not getting the full 8 but its pretty good for prime time. I know its not alot compared to most of the connections here but its pretty good for a town in Arkansas lol.

right now iam just running the 32 bit, i've heard that 64 bit has some bad compatibility problems with games, don't know if thats still true or not. But i think this will help alot. Also forgot to say that i ordered two of those sticks of memory so ill have 2GB of ram this time so that should help alot to. Do you think its a good idea to run 64 bit vista if your going to be gaming?

ok thanks i appreciate the quick reply. I cant wait to get the new hardware. Right now I have a single core Athlon 64 3200 + and 1 gig ddr memory, I am hopping this upgrade will make my computer feel alot more snappy with windows vista. Next upgrade will be the video card.

I just order some new computer upgrades to get my comp ready for some good pc games coming out and i wanted to make sure the motherboard and memory would work together. I thought that the memory i was ordering was ddr2 800 but its to late to change it now because its been shiped and will be here tuesday. I think it will work with that motherboard since the motherboard supports up to ddr 2 800 and that memory i ordered ddr 2 675. Just wondering if you guys know, thanks for the help. If it wont work ill have to RMA the memory and order some other kind

Hi, i was just wondering if there is anyway to play a x264 video file on my computer. I have windows vista. I have tryed using windows media player, quicktime, and VLC media player. None have worked. I have also googled this and cant find a real answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have some spare money, and am trying to decide between two different CPU upgrades. Currently I have AMD Athlon 64 3200 + right now. I have enough money for either a Athlon 64 4000 + , or a Athlon 64 X2 3800+. Which would give me faster performance under vista, because I have vista right now and it fells pretty sluggish compared to xp. Would the dual core be better, or a faster single core? thanks for the help

Looks like its out of beta stage. That site gives me same results as I would get at speakeasy.net, also my upload speed never turns out to good on that site.

Iam not sure if this has been fixed but I just ran a speed test and didnt get any error messages using firefox 1.5.0.6.

Now that I think about it I think what they did is lowerd the cap to 4.0, from 4.2 because the modem used to get 4.2 to 4.4 on speed test, and it probably didnt help with the bandwith crunch they where having so they probably but it back down to 4.0, because now iam starting to get speeds of 3.85 now.

I have a cable internet connection that advertises 4.0Mbps down. I used to get this speed all the time, but recently my cable company was having problems with there bandwith provider (AT&T). They orderd more bandwidth but it also seems like the put all the cable modem capped at 3.7. I know thats its not a big diffrence in speed but should the cable provider be able to cap the modem lower then what they advertise? I am pretty much possitive its capped at 3.7 cause thats what I get no matter what time it is, and aslo it only started doing this after they sent the modem a new config file.

Time-limited software Windows Vista Beta 2 (and RC1) is time-limited, pre-release software that will expire on June 1, 2007. thats a pretty good ammount of time to test lol.

Ok i appreciate all the help. I just left the computer on overnight. When I lowerd the number of connection to about 180 or 175 it would start letting me on the net. But I the cable modem just couldnt handel the load because I couldnt even pull up the cable modem diagnostics page. I had the upload on the bittorent capped at 20 kb a second, and my advertised upload is 1megabit so the upload shouldnt have been overloaded. Probably just the cablemodem since it couldnt pull up its diag. page

Well even though I had all those connection I was only using about 107 KB/s, and my cap is 4 megabits, I guess the cable modem just couldent handel all those seperate connections at the same time.

I currently have a old SB4200 cable modem. Whenever I download something on Bittorent and get connected to alot of peers (200 or more), my cable modem seems to completley ignore any thing else I try to do such as browse the internet. It will time out but the BT download keeps going fine. Is this normal, or would a newer cablemodem such as a SB5120 fix this, or should I put a limit on the number of peers I connect to on BT. Thanks for the help.

It helped a little but it didnt fix the pausing problem i have ant the windows is starting up part but i can live with it.

I agree it would probably be best to wait for a card with DX10 support before spending money like that.

I have been runing build 5308 on my second Hard Drive for about 7 days. It works ok but the Nvidia driver has no opitimization so the UI is a little slow with Aero. Sometimes the screen pauses for about 30 seconds at a time although kind of rare. Also ever since I installed my sound drivers that are meant for Vista beta it gets a BSOD every time I shut down. Overall I dont recomend using it as your main OS but it is kinda cool to see whats coming next.
