Well after dropping satellite for 6 months and searching for wireless service i can't take it anymore im going back to direcpc Hows service been for u dw4000 users??

I have read the site a little bit and it seems to be ur basic satellite service. Cept there 512k download cost 49.99$ and i paid 59.99 permonth for direcpc and it would run about 1.5mb sometimes more ,Wild blue has a F.A.P (fair access policy) as with any satellite service i don't use satellite anymore because its not worth the money it cost. But if u only need to d/l smaller files and don't plan on playing games/ checking e-mail fast u could give it a shot ....but its not worth the money but thats my opinion. Best reguards, Tim

I have a question, ok i live in the sticks ...but my cingular cell phone has full service almost always while im at home, so what i am asking is the could i use data transfer for my desktop to play games online? and remember i live in the sticks ( 26.4k dial-up). and i am in the edge/gprs coverage area

Does anyone have any ideal of how do do this? Where to find the software to link 2 56k modems together ? Where can i find a modem that already supports mlpp (Dual 56k lines) Any help would be Great ! Thanks, Tim

LOl you could get mlpp if your isp provides it. It just combines 2 56k connections which can be 112K. Would be nice for gaming

1.5 is plenty fast to stream so that's not your problem either. I stream Audio/video on satellite..Srry i can't be more of a help.....Good Luck : -Tim-

Nah i dun think they run t9,or that there even is a such thing as t9. Maybe oc-48 or something but t9 sounds mythical to me lol. Later

If they totally stop trying to make satellite internet better. I think that's crap because cable and dsl users pay what 35$ a month? I paid 100$ for a year and then 50$ a month you think they could find the funds to make it better. Satellite has the worse upload and cost way more than any other residential broadband. But im in the sticks so i have no choice. You would think with technology today every one in the u.s. could have broadband upload and download. Look at england,,German, and china they are all pretty much fully covered with broadband availability. And the main reason i believe i read somewhere is because all of them countries had made plans for mass broadband expansion in which im sure they had to dip into their countries funds but still at least they have a "BROAD" span of broadband coverage. Makes me sick Lol but anyways enough cryin. No one cares about people in the boonies when it comes to broadband we get screwed we pay more for less. which it may cost more for them to supply it to us. Ok i ran 10 test with default settings . All of my test were between 1500k and 1600k Then i used the tweaks and all of them were between 1500k - 1600k except the DW4000 MTU 1460_VanBuren_test file ran in between 500k-800k max. But all the other dw4000 setups were almost identical. Well im not to sad about my s-peed seems to be stable tonight granted its sunday night lol. But anyways i guess it dun work for me? Hello i have owned the direcpc 2-way dw4000 for 15months now and i have also seen a drop from around 2.4 mb per sec to 500k . Ok first thing what are u running 2-way? 1-way? Maybe i can help with more information. Later

I have dw4000 2-way system and I'm only running one comp but , since having the dw4000 for about 15months it's Crappy now well 500k ...makes me sick on;y because i went from 2.4 mb d/l speed to 500k over 4 months but anyways dun expect fast speeds if u got direcpc they are really getting bad : ( not worth my 1200$ lol but oh well enough crying later
