Bwalker25 Posted December 30, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 30, 2005 anyone have suggestions on how to tweak this thing? I can't find a test file that will supports the symmetrical 100/100Mb lines. I would love to get a 1GB/1GB test file! I want to see how far I can push it! This has got to be the fastest legit test ever done!

Bwalker25 Posted December 30, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 30, 2005 With that test file I stay constant at 1MB/sec thats all I can push, however, I have used cablenut and used the T3 settings file. I didn't test it before I optomized it, but I didn't see a full duplex settings file as I'm not sure many people have access to that kind of speed, ya know? I'm not sure really how fast this will go, but I can get files from adobe.com the full acrobat reader in under 6 seconds easy!

Bwalker25 Posted January 3, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 3, 2006 now i am at home, on rr I am so sad I only get 7.4Mb/s from here but it says its good (premium service) I am paying for 8Mb, not really getting it! One sad fact is that at work I can be on wireless 54MBps and get faster download speed on wireless link at work than I can get at home. Also at work its a symmetrical wireless connection! If I go into work today I will post some speed tests here! Any one know why I can't get my full 8Mbps from home I only get 7.4. I know this computer uses the 100MBps CCS file from Van B, but I am testing from my desktop and can't get it over 7.6, I consistently average from my desktop only 7.1 - 7.3 at the most, I will post settings in a diff post if necessary, just let me know
Blunted 2 Posted January 3, 2006 CID Share Posted January 3, 2006 its cable and alot of the time you cant get it cause its shared a connection and you might have alot of people on your node also. did you try cablenut yet on this?
Bwalker25 Posted January 3, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 3, 2006 trying it out right now, I went to a website where you can put in your connection speed and got the settings from there I tried to download from aol.com the "setupaol6.0.exe" file as it is 40MB and I maxed out at only 966KB/s. Thats only 7.727 Mb/s, thats 0.3Mb/s off of what I want!
Bwalker25 Posted January 3, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 3, 2006 after tweaking I can get average of 7.3 - 7.5 a slight increase, but not what i had expected!
VanBuren Posted January 3, 2006 CID Share Posted January 3, 2006 try this file Bwalker25, I dont know if your capped at 8 Mbps or if its advertised speed only sometimes, ISP
