don't know if the dw modem has router functions. since it has only one ethernet port (inferred from your description of using a hub) i guess it don't. in that case the first comp to connect to it for an ip would get the ip and since the other comp has a different mac address the modem don't wanna talk to it.

The way things are hooked up now is the way they have been for almost a year with no problems with this issue. All of a sudden this computer can not connect. I tried a restore point but it can not use it. Spywareblaster screenshot point was also a no go.
