Marcin541 Posted December 26, 2004 Author CID Share Posted December 26, 2004 Its all good... for you that is this is sad... I dont think its made to say 56/768 lol My guess would be that these stats are for a 128 Kbps/768 Kbps connection.
xs1 Posted December 26, 2004 CID Share Posted December 26, 2004 lol it got your upload right.. your download is being read correctly too for your recent speeds. says im on 3.256 which is funny since im on 3/386. I can never get my uplaod anywhere close to its cap. =( Mabey after all this holiday mush your connection will level out. If not id see if there were any other providers in my area. Marcin541 Posted December 26, 2004 Author CID Share Posted December 26, 2004 From what I can tell; they had an outage of one or more of the routers and they are trying to cover it up. Also, they are rerouting traffic through backup nodes, which is why everyones internet is slow.

Ar.Pi, First welcome to the site I hope you will enjoy... I usually try and give the tech the benefit of the doubt until I know he is wrong, assuming you have taken all the steps to insure the problem isn't you, like normal stuff you know like, run anti spy-ware pgms, and A.V. pgms, double check all connections etc., etc., etc., that being said if you have put in a service call it very easy for a tech to come on site and prove who is at fault.... a word of caution some companies bill customers when they are at fault..... good luck and let us know.... don't forget to tell your friends to check their speeds at TESTMY.NET...... Marcin541 Posted January 13, 2005 Author CID Share Posted January 13, 2005 They should send you the modem free of charge, if its otherwise, tell them. Well a 12.95 shipping charge is the only thing you should expect. Other than that, If you live in NY, it might not be you.

I tried to call Verizon a couple of days ago and after being on hold for almost an hour, I gave up. I going to try them again over the weekend and see what happens. It's interesting to note that the problem seems to be in the NYC area. I'm in Brooklyn and have never had a problem before this. Hopefully one of us will be able to shed some light on this matter. Ar.Pi Posted January 21, 2005 CID Share Posted January 21, 2005 ok , the Line Technician just was at my house. He checked both my line and the Telphone Box line in Basement. everything was good. he told me they have this problem (as i figured already) in Brooklyn and Queens. in Brooklyn they already seem to isolate the problem though. he said thats cuz they upgrading into Fiber Optic and having problems. they tried to boost the speed of users by giving them more bandwidth up to 3.MBits but it only slowed down even more (exetended the distance lines). he also said something about "interleaves" or something like that (some boosting thing that also caused problems.) long story short, the problem is with the Verizon Gateway. he said i should monitor my speed these 2 days and he will call me back monday morning to check on me. right now my speed is good (11:30 AM): :::.. Marcin541 Posted March 27, 2005 Author CID Share Posted March 27, 2005 Actually, it was a problem with verizon overselling their services. It has happened again recently, lasted for about 2 days and its good again. I think they have actually done something about it this time. I mean my sync rate has lowered when i plug a phone into my line. But now, i alwys sync at max.
