tm24ns58 Posted February 26, 2006 CID Share Posted February 26, 2006 Hello lan_darklord. Indeed your speed does look normal for this time of day. If no one has welcomed you yet. Welcome to the forum! Do you have a DW6000 or DW7000? I am assuming a DW7000 based on your upload speed. Have you tweaked anything yet?

lan_darklord Posted February 27, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 27, 2006 I'm wired, have a Linksys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL router inbetween for when a friend brings his laptop. Running on a DW7000, ran CableNut settings provided in forum, didnt notice much difference in speeds. Found an article on the DW6000 how somebody tweaked their speeds with TCPOptimizer and tried that, it did infact make my uploads better (not much) but they seemed to stay more consistant. Bird Fan Posted February 27, 2006 CID Share Posted February 27, 2006 Ok, you're on the AMC9. Can you take a speed test tomorrow morning around 6 AM? Also, did you just power-cycle/restart your modem?
lan_darklord Posted February 27, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 27, 2006 I'll try to do it in the morning cant promise, (College student). And yes I did just reset my modem, just to see if I got a burst after resetting.
lan_darklord Posted February 27, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 27, 2006 I also noticed lately that I am only on the 256 turbo 2/3. When I first was put on I was on both the 256 2/3 and the 4/

lan_darklord Posted February 27, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 27, 2006 Consumer Plan, 59.99 month. Lowest speeds I've ever hit was downloading a HUGE update for a program (roughly 90 Megs) but it was still traveling at around 50kbps. My average downloads are around 70-80 Kbps depending on amount of sources and their own speeds.

lan_darklord Posted February 28, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 28, 2006 Here is what I've got set. In IE > Lan Settings > Proxy options both boxes checked > have it going directly to the same proxy DW uses > block using proxy on certain Network IPs And ran Cablenut settings for Sat. After doing so I found this topic http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1703.0 And knowing the DW6000 is about the same as the 7000 I decided to give it a try. tommie gorman Posted February 28, 2006 CID Share Posted February 28, 2006 Try TCP Optimizer, It works better on some computers, actually. lan_darklord Posted February 28, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 28, 2006 The topic I referenced above used TCP Optimizer and I already applied what was there in that one, but I'll look over the topic you referenced
