Guest philp Posted March 5, 2006 CID Share Posted March 5, 2006 Does anyone know if Earthlink has upgraded their standard package lately? I have the basic 5000/384 package and just tested my DL speed and got this: :::.. richcornucopia Posted March 5, 2006 CID Share Posted March 5, 2006 Probably in florida like all the other lucky earthlink customers.

brock01 Posted March 5, 2006 CID Share Posted March 5, 2006 hmm maybe your just getting lucky with faster than advertised speeds
Guest philp Posted March 5, 2006 CID Share Posted March 5, 2006 I guess so. Or maybe Road Runner has upgraded? I get my Earthlink from Time Warner cable who also provides RR in this area. Last time RR upgraded, so did I. According to Earthlink's website, their basic package is still 3000/384. http://www.earthlink.net/highspeed/faq/#s_fast But Road Runner advertises this: http://content.rr.com/rdrun/feat_speed.htm
brock01 Posted March 5, 2006 CID Share Posted March 5, 2006 dont listen or earthlink, its timewarner or brighthouse whatever you have in your area is what speed you get, earthlink is nothing, just email and software. dont listen to earthlink. Guest philp Posted March 7, 2006 CID Share Posted March 7, 2006 Earthlink is nothing, just email and software. One more thing it is: $3 a month cheaper than having the Road Runner name for my ISP.
brock01 Posted March 7, 2006 CID Share Posted March 7, 2006 3 bucks aint much, but if it is for you then good deal
xs1 Posted March 7, 2006 CID Share Posted March 7, 2006 new package is 7/512 My guess would be that these stats are for a 10+ Mbps/512 Kbps connection. - Download 30 Day Stats (Overall Average = 6746 Kbps :: 823 kB/sec) - Upload 30 Day Stats (Overall Average = 478 Kbps :: 58 kB/sec)
Guest philp Posted March 8, 2006 CID Share Posted March 8, 2006 3 bucks aint much, but if it is for you then good deal LOL!! No, it isn't much. But at the current prices, it's almost 1.5 gallons of gasoline. But seriously, it's the principle. Besides, it's actually $8 a month more for Road Runner if you don't also include Time Warner cable's crappy service. What a joke!
