Indestructable Posted December 27, 2004 CID Share Posted December 27, 2004 ok, as some of you may already know, I wasn't happy with my cablenut results. It slowed down my speed by .6mbps. well, I get the program again, thinkign that I did something terribly wrong. And I had. I read the readme, and now look! :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 3353 Kbps about 3.4 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 409 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 60 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 2.5 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=9MPFXDY9S Upload still sucks though...what setting in Cablenut makes the upload faster? thanks all! :::.. VanBuren Posted December 27, 2004 CID Share Posted December 27, 2004 Upload still sucks though...what setting in Cablenut makes the upload faster? The setting that you can boost your upload with is Default Send window, set it to 1024x (your upload cap in KB/s) if it dosent help much, try a smaller value, just make sure its multiple with 1024. good luck VanBuren btw nice download speed
Indestructable Posted December 27, 2004 Author CID Share Posted December 27, 2004 thanks for the advice...actually, I tried to do that, but, there is no Deafult Send window in my Cablenut... what? I'm on Windows 98SE. does that have something to do with it? later indestructable
RTB Posted December 27, 2004 CID Share Posted December 27, 2004 Yes, you can't tweak your upload in Win98. If you decide to upgrade, WinXP without SP2 is a good choice for now. SP2 is causing quite a few problems on a number of computers.

My XP came with SP2 and I have heard bad things about it and woudl like to try out SP1...Thanks
Marcin541 Posted December 31, 2004 CID Share Posted December 31, 2004 Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Windows XP Sp2 (click remove) Thats how I got rid of mine, hope it helps. Also, I downloaded it from the internet, then uninstalled, its not a new version of windows.
