VanBuren Posted December 28, 2004 CID Share Posted December 28, 2004 umm,.. how do i know what my cap is??? its always different. and when i do it manually, do i put it in hex or decimal??? If you dont know the cap you can assume a value, eg 384 Kbps = 384/8 = 48 KB/s now take 48x1024 = 49152 all values in decimal VanBuren

MICROWAVE Posted December 28, 2004 CID Share Posted December 28, 2004 2smart4u , DW is a little different for some reason, maybe because Hughes is also using the network for military spy shiz....lol, But I think and prefer to have my download speed set as high as I can get because I dont do much uploading, and as a rule most everyone uses download much more than upload...... 2smart4u Posted December 28, 2004 Author CID Share Posted December 28, 2004 ok i will tweak up my comp for more download speed, but just to check up, on the tcpwindow size i calculate it by the mss right, but how do i figure out what my mss is, cause right now my tcp is at approx 50000 or something like that. is that good or should i lift it u to 6 or lower it to 4,
VanBuren Posted December 28, 2004 CID Share Posted December 28, 2004 I made a cablenut file for you, open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry now in top left corner click file, load custom settings file, browse to this file and open it click save to registry again reboot your pc good luck VanBuren

VanBuren Posted December 28, 2004 CID Share Posted December 28, 2004 I suggest to use the 3 MB test downstream and 1496 KB test upstream, to compare diffrent tweaks. a larger RWIN for example will give a larger burst and give a faster score at a speedtest, that dosent mean your true speed is faster. I suggest you stick to the latest file i posted here, the thing you can try to change is Default Send window, i set it to 16384 but you can try a larger eg 32768 good luck VanBuren
