FaT_PHiL Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 some of the areas in NY have gotten the upgrade i believe. Have you used cablenut yet? You can also call roadrunner and ask them when your going to get the upgrade or if you have it already. If you want to try and tweak your connection although if your on a 5/384 package there shouldnt be need to. your over 100% of your ISP's advertised speeds. but if your suppose to be on 7/512 then you can download cablenut http://www.student.ipfw.edu/~gottjl01/files/cablenut408.exe Try using some of vans settings listed in this thread http://www.testmy.net/topic-1013 you can also customize your own cablenut settings by going here and following the instructions(assuming your using winxp or 2000)(for 98 or ME go to the 98/ME page) http://www.j79zlr.com/cablenutXP2k.php

Aszeroth Posted March 17, 2006 CID Share Posted March 17, 2006 I have used TCPOptimizer along with a patched tcpip.sys file that allows more than 8 connections after XP SP 2. Currently I have changed the allowance from 8 connections to 1024. With the cable nut options help any more than what I have already done? Thanks for the reply. Here is a portion of a screen capture when using utorrent.
