Guest bugmenot Posted March 17, 2006 CID Share Posted March 17, 2006 you guys are idiots. the browser doesnt have any effect on the actual connection speed. the difference from browser to browser that makes one load pages faster than the other is due to the way the browser renders and the method it uses to display the page to your screen as the aspects of the page are being downloaded. in a speed test, the browser shouldn't have anything to do with the speed you get while downloading a single file. if you are getting different speed results from browser to browser, than testmy.net must not be very reliable or accurate. do some tests at http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ and see what you get (they are considered very reliable). note: this isn't my account, i'm just using bugmenot.com because i was getting annoyed at what i was reading in this thread. Thanks for the useful and knowledgeable advice. It's people like you that make the search for answers truly rewarding. BTW, if you hold down the shift key when you press a letter on the keyboard, you can capitalize the first word of your sentences. It may help when you want to appear smart. note: this isn't my account, i'm just using bugmenot.com because i was getting annoyed at what i was reading in this thread. Thank you. Guest philp Posted March 18, 2006 CID Share Posted March 18, 2006 Here's a big surprise. I went to MSN's game page to do some crossword puzzles (it relaxes me, okay? ) and got this message: Important Note: Your browser has not been detected as Internet Explorer. You may view the content within this site using any client browser and you can download games to play them off-line, however; the on-line games will only work with the Internet Explorer 5.01 or later browser on Windows 98 or later operating systems. **** Bill Gates!!
