Ryan314 Posted March 17, 2006 CID Share Posted March 17, 2006 Ok, heres the deal.. yesterday i reformatted my hd. I later found out it didnt reformat but restored to an earlier time and deleted all my programs... i was like.. huh? ok so anyways.. I usually get 7-7.6mbps dl and 370kbps upload Lately i cant pass 5mbps and uppload is the normal.. So i used cablenut .. used the 6/384 settings.. that screwed me even more.. i went down to like 4mbps.. then i restored my old settings and was back to 5. So then i decided to try tcpoptimizer as i had last time i tweaked my comp.. That brought me down to 3mbps! ok i ran a tracert heres the results Tracing route to testmy.net [67.18.179.85] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1 2 * * * Request timed out. 3 7 ms 8 ms 7 ms ge-2-2-ur01.avenel.nj.panjde.comcast.net [68.86.220.101] 4 8 ms 9 ms 9 ms po10-ur02.avenel.nj.panjde.comcast.net [68.86.209.230] 5 7 ms 9 ms 9 ms po10-ur01.union.nj.panjde.comcast.net [68.86.209.234] 6 9 ms 9 ms 9 ms po10-ur02.union.nj.panjde.comcast.net [68.86.209.238] 7 10 ms 9 ms 9 ms po10-ur01.jerseycity.nj.panjde.comcast.net [68.86.209.242] 8 8 ms 9 ms 9 ms po10-ur02.jerseycity.nj.panjde.comcast.net [68.86.209.246] 9 10 ms 10 ms 8 ms po10-ur01.narlington.nj.panjde.comcast.net [68.86.209.250] 10 12 ms 10 ms 9 ms po70-ar01.verona.nj.panjde.comcast.net [68.86.209.254] 11 10 ms 11 ms 12 ms ar01.plainfield.nj.panjde.comcast.net [68.86.208.5] 12 11 ms 11 ms 11 ms 68.86.211.2 13 12 ms 10 ms 12 ms 12.119.12.17 14 51 ms 50 ms 50 ms tbr2-p012402.n54ny.ip.att.net [12.123.219.133] 15 49 ms 47 ms 49 ms tbr2-cl15.wswdc.ip.att.net [12.122.10.54] 16 51 ms 50 ms 50 ms tbr1-cl17.attga.ip.att.net [12.122.10.70] 17 48 ms 47 ms 47 ms tbr2-cl1835.attga.ip.att.net [12.122.9.158] 18 49 ms 49 ms 49 ms tbr1-cl13.dlstx.ip.att.net [12.122.2.89] 19 48 ms 49 ms 48 ms gar1-p360.dlrtx.ip.att.net [12.123.196.101] 20 49 ms 47 ms 47 ms 12.119.136.14 21 48 ms 48 ms 49 ms vl31.dsr01.dllstx3.theplanet.com [70.85.127.29] 22 265 ms 205 ms 67 ms vl42.dsr02.dllstx4.theplanet.com [70.85.127.91] 23 48 ms 47 ms 47 ms gi1-0-1.car17.dllstx4.theplanet.com [67.18.116.69] 24 49 ms 63 ms 59 ms 85.67-18-179.reverse.theplanet.com [67.18.179.85] Trace complete. php Posted March 17, 2006 CID Share Posted March 17, 2006 You might need a crossover cable to connect directly to the modem
FallowEarth Posted March 17, 2006 CID Share Posted March 17, 2006 try setting the duplex mode of your NIC to 10Mbps/half-duplex when connecting directly to the modem. (found under the advanced tab of your NIC properties).
