Gregorama Posted February 17, 2005 CID Share Posted February 17, 2005 Mike, just to let you know, Adelphia is being bought out by Comcast, so you'll be seeing a speed increase when that does happen. I'm sure you'll be glad to hear that. I have Adelphia as my ISP as well, but I'm paying for their "Premium Package." 4000/512, yet I average around 600k up. I'm ditching Adelphia later this year, because FIOS (Fiber Optics) is rolling in my area. 15000/2000 for $40 a month. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

BAF Posted February 19, 2005 CID Share Posted February 19, 2005 It isn't even final. Adelphia, I hope, stays together through this. I have been bring up the adelphia average (I have premiere, why pay $57.95 for 3mb/256kb when for $59.95 we can get 4mb/512kb ) Your connection is: 4128 Kbps (about 4.1 Mbps) You downloaded at: 504 KB/s Your TRuSPEED: ^info^ 4417 Kbps :: 539 KB/s (7% overhead factored) Bottom Line: You are running: 74 times faster than 56K and can download 1 megabyte in 2.03 second(s) Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 66.38 % faster than the average for host (adelphia.net) our connection is: 431 Kbps (about 0.4 Mbps) You uploaded at: 53 KB/s Your TRuSPEED: ^info^ 461 Kbps :: 57 KB/s (7% overhead factored) Bottom Line: You are running: 8 times faster than 56K and can upload 1 megabyte in 19.32 second(s) Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 46.6 % faster than the average for host (adelphia.net) Upload is crappy, i usually average around 450ish.... Check my stats: https://testmy.net/30-BAF Upload is crappy, but oh well. Its better than the 200 i got on the normal package http://www.dslreports.com/speedtests/4150102;445964;e0dfaf7b97c976b538cee686fd71028d;2.0;nyc.speakeasy.net/1108822437 is about the lowest I get on those speed tests NDT gives me: running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 499.13Kb/s running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 4.31Mb/s The slowest link in the end-to-end path is a 10 Mbps Ethernet subnet [edit] Also, Adelphia is doing speed upgrades. 34 areas are testing these. By the end of the month or so should be the final date for them
