reno Posted March 19, 2006 CID Share Posted March 19, 2006 Today I moved my computer from downstairs to up simple enough, now when I go to turn my computer on nothing happens, all the lights are on but it does nothing, the fans flicker and thats it. I have made sure something has come loose and still nothing. Any Ideas?
richcornucopia Posted March 19, 2006 CID Share Posted March 19, 2006 1.Does it sound like its starting up, like the hardrive is being accessed and other normal start up sounds? 2. Do the fans just spin for a second then everything turns off? If 1 do you have something like realvnc installed so you can try and access the computer that way? Make sure the monitor to video card cable is secure also. If 2 try and unplug something unnecessary to start up, like a cd drive. 3. Report back here. reno Posted March 19, 2006 Author CID Share Posted March 19, 2006 It does nothing at all, doesn't try to acces anything, I press power and the LED's in the fan blink and thats it. All the right lights on the mother board are on so I don't see what the problem is.

disturbed Posted March 19, 2006 CID Share Posted March 19, 2006 its very unlikely that something came loose - plug it into a different power socket, and make sure the power supply button is in the on position

richcornucopia Posted March 19, 2006 CID Share Posted March 19, 2006 Maybe something was blocking the fan from turning so the computer refused to start up?
dlewis23 Posted March 19, 2006 CID Share Posted March 19, 2006 reno did you hit it on anything, or place it down a little hard? and have you tried taking the computer back to the orignal, place were it was, and seeing if it works there?
