tommie gorman Posted March 22, 2006 CID Share Posted March 22, 2006 I could not tell you how fast this is, but I was at my super geeks office one day and I asked him how fast his connection was. Well he started looking up sites, and I swear I had to look at 6 or 7 page changes before I could even see the blink of the page change. Almost like an optical illusion. One of these days I will have to find out how he does that. He had like a 100 Mbps. connection, if I am not mistaken. Damn that was fast, at least compared to Satelite. WOW Also he says to call him that, he has been in computers since early 60's.

tommie gorman Posted March 22, 2006 CID Share Posted March 22, 2006 Is there a way he could post his speeds without joining. He thinks forums are boring, works on computers too much. Like under my name or something.

tommie gorman Posted March 22, 2006 CID Share Posted March 22, 2006 I did not know if it set him up as a sat conn. or something. I just have never done something like this before. So he could just post as me then. Just post in Show off your scores, right. What would be a test for him to take, if I could him to do it? Blunted Posted March 22, 2006 CID Share Posted March 22, 2006 just let him use your account and tell him to make a topic in show off your scores and thats it. tell him to use the main testmy.net server and pick smart test.
j3grizz Posted March 23, 2006 CID Share Posted March 23, 2006 Well guys you look like you all have it figured out so I am going to put you to the test. I posted over in the gen. disc. as well without much traffic. Tommie G. helped me over there. I have Alltel Dsl with 1.5mb download and 384 up. I am running Windows XP Home, Norton Antivirus, Spybot, and Adaware. I keep a clean running system and have tried TCP Optimizer and cablenut. I seem to get around the same speed with every setting I try. What can I do different or do the results look ok? Thanks for your help ahead of time. Jay. Here are my latest speed tests.... :::.. j3grizz Posted March 23, 2006 CID Share Posted March 23, 2006 Yes, I am running cablenut and these are my settings. What do think I need to change. Remember my capped download is 1.5mbps and upload is 384. My average latency is around 135 to 140 as far as I can tell. I can't do a trace route without getting errors. Thanks again for everyones help.
tommie gorman Posted March 23, 2006 CID Share Posted March 23, 2006 chewies remember U/L is less changeable due to the fact it is more reliant on you computer, than it is on downloads. j3grizz, like I said in PM, wait till Saturday and check again. Also weekends are nice slow day to test.
